Bay Watch Resort by Myrtle Grand Vacations, North Myrtle Beach

We were a little apprehensive coming to Bay Watch after seeing some of the negative reviews. We took a chance and booked through Elliott . We were put in unit # 1014. It was extremely clean with tile floor and updated king bed and sofa. The washer and drier was a nice convenience. Next year we are booking early to stay at this condo or one like it. The only drawback was the week passed so quickly.

We went on vacation with our adult children and our toddler grandson. The pools and lazy rivers etc. were wonderful! The views were incredible. Our room was very clean. The soaker bathtub in the master was a real treat! The appliances were spotless. The staff was helpful and very friendly! We will definitely be back in 1702 in the future!

If your on a budget this is the place for you. The rooms are clean but very out dated. The plumbing from the unit above you is very loud and the pipes rattle. The beds are old and uncomfortable. We were lucky enough to have a tv in all rooms but we had only one remote that would work. Not a pleasant experience and a huge disappointment for vacation. it was definitely over priced.

The Bay Watch is a wonderful facility - many outdoor and indoor pools, hot tubs, lazy rivers and kiddie pools. We always book through Elliott Realty. They represent many condo owners. You need to look at the photos on their web-site and choose a unit that has been upgraded. As with any vacation property, many owners do nothing to improve their condos while others continually upgrade and have wonderful accomodations. If you have questions you can always call the reservations people at Elliott and ask for their recommendations. Elliott's rates are very reasonable and a great value for the best condos.

Room was filthy. Had to clean floors, dishes, bathrooms, etc. before using. Poor quality beds and linens. Many things such as TV didn't work properly. Staff was rude and unwilling to help with anything.

We had a great week in 1640 BayWatch. We booked using Elliot Realty and had a great vacation. The view from this south facing corner unit is absolutely amazing. It has 4 sliding glass doors out to a wrap around balcony. The staff at the ocean front sand trap bar and grill are very friendly.

I was here for 20 minutes and received a 'ticket' for parking, honestly, 5 minutes past the 15 min load zone limit on my windshield. It was VERY dirty, carpet was so bad I left my shoes on. Stains on every piece of furniture, filthy dirty balcony. Very little upkeep could have made this room a lot nicer. But they obvisously spent $0.00 on overhead. Pools were clean, and bars were nice. I highly believe in spending on overhead to keep your biz in good service, so I will not return.

The water facilities were great. Location great. The room was spotless on check in. The interior of the microwave gleamed. The furnishings however were shabby and uncomfortable. The upholstery on the sofa and chair was coming undone and they were worn down the the boards. The mattresses were hard. The toilet paper would take the hide off you. We went out and bought our own. Would we stay there again? Only after a make over. We would have been even more unhappy had it not been for the terrific discount we had received through Expedia.

I will stay at Bay Watch from now on. I have stayed at a couple of other places. One was terrible!! The other I was very pleased with and enjoyed my stay ( The Long Bay Resort). But Bay Watch is the one I will go back to. I booked online even though some people left bad reviews. I worried from the time I booked until we got there. I prayed it would not be nasty and hoped I had not made a mistake. When we got there we were given the wrong room! I dont know if it was the hotels fault or the booking agent I used. But, It was worked out and we were in the perfect room in less than 45 minutes. I dont know why some people left bad reviews. I could not find ANYTHING wrong with this place. Everyone was nice, friendly and the place was very, very clean. Inside and out! I saw the staff working at all times. The pools were cleaned everyday. No trash anywhere. And one of the nice things about the pools (they have several of them) is that they play music through out the day. You can still hear the ocean, but the music was nice. And they play it during very resonable hours. I was never disturbed by it. Alot of people rate this hotel as a "family" hotel and that is very true. But, I went with my adult children and we really enjoyed it. So it doesnt matter if you are with children, adults or by yourself...this hotel is nice for everyone. It also has an outside bar located next to the pool in tower 3. They do music and dancing. Something different every night. But, you do not have to worry about children, kids can go up on the patio and do line dancing or whatever, they just cant go up to the bar. So, its not a bad place that children cant go. The location is good too. I am not big on crowds. And when I go to the beach it is because of the beach and the ocean. Not all this other stuff, like rides, water parks, etc. All I want is the beach and places to eat. Bay Watch is just a few miles from "restaurant row." So I was very happy. There is a place that does parasailing and banana boat rides within walking distance right on the beach! You dont have to pack up the car and drive at all. We road the banana boat and had the best time. The only thing I did not like is .......... I couldnt affford to stay longer!

We also did a last minute trip in April for our kids on spring break. My family my brother and his family and my parents all went. The pools were great the staff was pleasant. We had a such a great time we are going again in August right before school starts.
