Smelly rooms, internet didn't work
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/05
1st room smelled like urine, mold and mildew. 2nd room smelled like just mold and mildew. Had to buy candles at the Crackerbarrel to burn to mask the odor. It felt like we were in somebody's dank basement. Even the carpet was that really flat kind that you see in basements. Went to the front desk 3 times about the internet not working. They said they would reset the system, but it never worked (our computer & ethernet cable worked the day before and after just fine). At breakfast, the make-it-yourself waffle was fine, but all the rest of the buffet was less than you get elsewhere. The "dining area" was not separated from the lobby. We needed to find a future hotel in this area for other family members, so we checked out the Holiday Inn just down the street. The room we saw was better decorated with no smell. It was the same price and with a $5.00 coupon for breakfast. We wish that we could have gotten out of the online reservation we had at "Quality" Inn and stayed there. When we complained to the management of the Quality Inn, we got a rude letter back. If you have to stay in West Memphis, I'd recommend the Holiday Inn.
