A Nightmare- Bedbug Infestation!
By Traveller, 08/25/08
One word: Bedbugs! The room was completely infested with bedbugs, which bit my mother on the arm and neck. I killed about two dozen of them, which were all over the drapes and one of the beds, one little bug even visible on the pillow by my mom's head! Some of them were absolutely huge, and a few of them made bloody red smears when we killed them, which indicates they had been feeding on us! The lady who runs this motel was nice and apologetic, but only comped us for ONE night, the night we were up all night due to the insect horrors (my parents are elderly, and it was simply too late for them to pack up and move in the middle of the night), the other 3 nights my parents spent unaware of the swarm of bugs in our room we paid for in full! That's not good enough. This was a nightmare. My dad has a heart condition, and I didn’t want to upset him, which is the only reason I didn’t raise my voice at the management as we were leaving. Upon inspection, the curtains in that room were literally covered with over 100 dead bugs, no exaggeration. It was disgusting. There is some serious neglect going on there. There's no way we'll ever stay there again. This was the single worst hotel/motel experience of my life. Worst of all, if any bedbugs hitch a ride home with us, and the nightmare continues, we’ll be contacting Ramada Corporate to demand they pay the exterminator bill. Be warned.

I will never go back
By AmberA, 07/23/08
The customer service from the manager was horrific. They charged me twice for my room. i reserved my stay online through their website directly, they charged me back in march when i made my reservation and again in July after my stay. i called the hotel directly to resolve the issue and get my money back and he told me i was wasting his time and he was to busy to talk to me. i asked him a specific question and he refused to answer it, he also refused to give me the corporate phone # telling me he didnt have a corp office, that he didnt have the # and also telling me to call whoever and talk to whoever i wanted. Kumar was very rude to me. i will never stay in a ramada again after this horrible treatment by its employees. the stay itself was ok, our air conditioner was broken upon arrival but they had it replaced by the time we got back from dinner. our room was what you would expect for the price. it wasnt awful and it wasnt 4 star, it was average. the only entrance getting in and out of the hotel was very steep, you hit your bumper and rear on the street everytime you go in and go out. there is a parking garage with stairs to the lower level and another set of stairs to the 2nd level. the hotel sounds like its right by the beach but its not, its on a busy street and you have to drive a bit to the ocean and pier, there is no ocean view. its close but it wasnt as close as i thought it would be. the continental breakfast was toast, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, cereal and fruit. nothing special but offers a good snack.

Staff was VERY nice, Good location,
By cooper25, 07/18/08
Ok, so the hotel was exactly where we needed to be. Everything was close by. The Redondo Beach Pier wasn't very nice at all and we'd never go back but, if you are interested in seeing it..it's walking distance. The Hotel as not built as a Ramada and is just a basic hotel. The parking is underground below the hotel BUT in our overnight stay we saw police driving through twice just checking and it was well lit, the enterance to the parking is in front otf the front desk and NOT off the main road so all and all, we felt safe. The staff/front desk and everyone were SUPER NICE and very helpful...which made up for the little things like the broken switch on one of the lamps in the room. The room and bed were very clean. The carpet was soft, there is a coffee maker and small fridge and microwave in the room. The free breakfast and coffee was nice, assortments of cereals, muffins, toast, doughnuts etc coffee, juice and milk. All were fresh. This isn't a honeymoon hotel nor a fancy getaway but if you need a place to rest with nice people it is a good hotel.

This might be good for you if you are used to sleeping in a barn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/08
The hotel was super trashy, and very dirty. The (carpet) floor was wet and slimy was scared to take off my shoes. Our door wouldnt shut all the way. The parking lot was under the hotel very scary and didnt feel safe at all. The TV was so blury that we couldnt get a clear enough picture to watch or even listen to. The beds were sunk in and totally uncomfortable. The hot tub was only half way full with no lighting near it. The breakfast was not good at all, generic ceral and milk with ice......Everything in room was very old and outdated. Was definately not worth the money.

It is called "limited" for a reason
By Nathan, 08/23/07
Contrary to some reviews, this hotel is no dump. It is an affordable, convenient, clean, and safe place to stay for a few days. It is located right on the P.C.H., just south of L.A.X., and only a short walk to Redondo Pier and Beach. The staff were very friendly and professional, and made every effort to clean the room when needed. The lighted underground parking never suggested any security risk. In short, if tolerant of some rough edges, this is an ideal choice for a visitor on a budget to the South Beaches neighborhood of L.A. That said, expect a choppy entrance. This place is loud, very loud. Unwinding after a busy day of sightseeing and battling traffic is best left anywhere else. Expect to hear doors slamming, and conversations outside the room's door until midnight and often beyond. If not a very heavy sleeper, visit the local liquor store for medication. Yes, it is that loud. Also, the reception and lineup on the ancient T.V. was poor. That is why it is not just called "Ramada."

Things must have improved in '07
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/07
This is an older hotel, if you are looking for something fancy, this is not it. However...we found it very clean, the staff in the office helpful and the cleaning staff friendly and eager to provide extra towels, etc. That is why we rated it high. The food area was set up nicely, clean and provided a nice area to enjoy your breakfast and the paper. Close, safe walk (past the fire station) to the Pier, day or night!

Don't bother
By CarolS, 05/28/06
The hotel door would not lock or the window. The room was dirty and musty smelling. The underground parking was dirty and dark. I felt very unsafe and didn't want to leave the car. We called and cancelled the resv and check into another hotel down the way that was much better and about the same cost...

Going back to Cali
By Joel, 02/04/06
The rooms were noisy and not very clean. The parking was underground and very tight. The only good thing about this hotel was the location and the price. Being fair, the hotel staff was very pleasant and the shower was strong and hot. I would not stay there again. Also, I was not brave enough to eat the breakfast.
