Wouldn't hesitate to return!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/5/10
During a stay from 9/2 to 9/5/10 following a medical procedure, I was so pleased! Not only was the accommodation exactly what I needed, a suite, the staff was so pleasant and caring that I had everything that I needed. I have nothing but positive comments to make. Everything about the unit was topnotch - it was spotless! I would just like to say thank you.

Great Place to Stay - Last Minute Get away
This was a last minute get away for uson a holiday week end and it was great. The price for 2 nights on Memorial Day weekend was $54.00 per night, cannot beat that! The room was clean, the staff was wonderful and the pool was clean. This is a great location, close to everything at a fraction of the cost. We would definitely stay here again. The GM and the Asst GM were great. This is a great place to stay on a budget!!

$3,500 a week you got to be kidding
By Robert, 5/16/10
My wife booked a room for four, 2 adults and 2 little girls6 and 10 for a week and was quoted $280 including tax. We thought that was fair enough and reserved the studio room. We live in palm coast and after a long day of moving we arrive at micro-hell to check in and hit the showers. We were greeted by a nice young girl who said "there was no reservation" My wife and I said no big deal we will just check in now right?............wrong!! The nice girl said it would be $380 + another $100 for a room deposit. a week before she ran the numbers and asked for a credit card. So now were at $480 BEFORE tax and fees. My wife and I both looked at each other, both of us exhausted and stinky not to mention my wife has MS and its hard for her to walk so reluctantly we asked to speed to the manager. Of coarse he wasn't there. We had to bend her arm to call him a home. while she was attempting to get him on the phone we handed over our credit card and id's. We had no more fight in us. Well, she did get a hold of the Manager named "Joe" we asked to speak to this Joe and he refused. By this time Our paperwork was complete and ready to sign. Allot more than what we were quoted but it would be for only 1 week then we would never stay there again. So anyway the girl lays down the paper work and we don't believe what were seeing. $3,500 for the same room for the same duration. My wife blew a fuse and I tried to reason with the nice half witted girl. We finally stepped into our room at the inflated rate of $380 + $100 deposit. We continually attempted to contact elusive Joe. We never saw him until the last day out walking his dog. I ran to the frond deck and asked to se elusive Joe and the front desk girl said he had left for the day I wanted to inform him my wife has M.S. and was at a doctors appointment that was made a month ago with her M.S. specialist and was running a little late and she has our car so we couldn't check out till 2:30 that afternoon. 2:31 the phone rang in the room I answered the phone hoping it was my wife saying she on her way. It turned out to be the desk girl telling us Joe said to leave the room now in a threatening tone. My 2 daughters and I had everything ready to go but nowhere to take it. I understand the time policy and would have paid for an extra day bur my wife carries all our cash and cards like most husbands and wife that have been married more than 15 years. So here we go wheeling our stuff out to a shady place on the street. Remember we were there for a week with 4 people so we had about 4 trips to the street. The second trip my wife pulls up and looks at me in shock and starts to cry. That's my family's experience with Microtel. As a retired LAPD officer The made me feel uncomfortable from the beginning. Non of the staff were friendly that I cam in contact with other than the maid I saw once for 2 minutes. If there was 1 bright spot I would have to say there was ample parking. Day or night the parking lot was pretty much empty which explains why Elusive Joe was In such a hurry to get my family out on the street. BTW: One of the reasons we didn't get up and walk out from the very start was because we assumed 90% of all the hotels in Palm Coast reside on Old Kings road would be competitively priced. We drove Next door from micro hell to SLEEP INN 386-446-8180 and were pleasantly surprised. Not only did they give us the Initial $280 a week including tax, They have a hot tub. they honor the do not disturb sign, they have computers in the rooms, rooms are 100% nicer, more of a home feeling and the staff is some of the most pleasant people I have ever met. There TV's are much better and bigger. God Bless

Great stay , would go again.
By Lackey, 3/26/09
After reading the reviews i was i bit worried but there was nothing wrong ! The beds were clean and very comfy as was the room and bathroom. The only bad thing was they forgot our trash cans after they cleaned the beds up. Breakfast was simple and tasty. I would definatly stay again.

It wasn't bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/08
The Microtel was a quick stop over that allowed pets which is why I decided to stay. The overall appearance okay but noticibly worn and the entire building had a mildewy smell(probably because of the water system in palm coast), but it is not at all shabby or digusting. The room, thank goodness, was clean, carpeting was a bit old and could use replacement, and with the air running the smell of the rest of the building did not affect the smell of the room. The room is very basic but for about $50 a night it was not horrible. It served its purpose and it was not bad for a one night stay. I would stay here again if I need a pet friendly place in Palm Coast again.

well its not the ritz and not NYC but gr8 for a microtel ?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/13/05
palm coast microtel is not on the beach it is in 'midtown' PC about 2 miles from the two dollar toll bridge that doesn't lead to any obvious beach but does lead to A1A where you can drive another 10 miles to reach Flagler Beach and hang on the road because the beach pretty much disappears for most of the day unless its low tide then it drops like a cliff into the deep ocean. They called it coquina sand , i call it cornflakes whatever it is you sink up to your knees in it as it is very wet. The Microtel was actually the best part of this trip , i will never stay in this one horse town again due to the dark ocean (not blue) and the strange sand. I will also never visit Florida again during the VERY hot month of August.

Never use Microtel again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/18/05
When we had trouble with our toilet, I was offered a plunger and asked to be my own plumber. When I complained, the manager argued with me, instead of apologizing for the inconvenience which would probably have solved the problem. Instead, I refused to sign the credit card slip and left, vowing never to darken the entry to another Microtel Inn
