A True Disney Resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/06
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is centrally located in between Downtown Disney and Disney's California Adventure. It is also the newest and most beautiful Disneyland Hotel. Upon arriving at the Grand Californian, parking is around $10.00, and $12.00 for valet. The lobby is absolutely extravagant and truly captures the beauty of an old Yosemite lodge. The staff were wonderful and took joy in helping you. Elevators are located in the lobby and will take you to your hotel room. The hotel room we booked was a two queen theme park view. The hotel room was luxuriously appointed and didn't lack on the smallest details. The balcony was an awesome feature and offered a wonderful view of the nighttime lights at the Paradise Pier section of California Adventure. The television was surprisingly useful because it would entertain the kids with the Disney Channel. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, and especially those who plan to spend time at the parks because of the private enterences to California Adventure and Downtown Disney.

Wonderful Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/06
The Grand Californian is a great choice for anyone spending a few days at Disneyland and California Adventure. With a special entrance into California Adventure, the hotel is wonderfully situated for the much needed break from the busy day at the parks. The environment inside the hotel is relaxing and beautiful. The rooms are well appointed and the staff is fantastic. The hotel also gives you early entrance to the parks so you can get on those busy attractions early. I have stayed at 8 different hotels around Anahiem and this is by far my favorite.

BEAUTIFUL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/06
I love being able to have private gate to California Adventure. The SPA left ALOT to be desired. I tried a massage and the noise from the eatery next door was bad. In the morning I tried to escape for some quiet but the work out music had the base up so loud the steam room vibrated! All in all I feel the place if over priced. I took my family for 4 years in a row. We will no longer stay here

The Best Hotel in Disneyland alright.
By the_local_wanderer, 11/22/06
When we went to the Grand Californian Hotel in 2005, Gosh it was awesome! I really thought the service was great and the rooms were clean. 100% clean! The food was great, especially the breakfast at the Storytellers Cafe and the snacks at Whitewater Snacks. My family enjoyed the special entrance to California Adventure, which helped us out a lot. The pool is a great relaxing getaway from the park and there are about three hot tubs I think so its pretty convenient. The waterslides can be a bit crowded, but its quite fun for your children, 3-13 years old. I can't wait to go back there and chilax! The rooms are a bit small, but what I liked about it is that you can have a bunc bed for your children in your room, which makes sleeping easier knowing that your children have their own space. Overall, the Grand Californian is one of the greatest hotels that you'll ever go to. If you have a chance to go to Disneyland, pick this hotel. I cannot wait to go back to this extremely extravagent hotel and I hope you will all feel the same way that I do. Trust me, once you go to the Grand Californian, I'm sure you'll want to come back there next time. =)

when can we leave
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/06
The first thing I did was go out to see the terrace, I kicked off my shoes and stepped out, to my suprise, I stepped on someones, not ours toenails, they hurt and were big,yuk we ate at the restryuk there, that was very bad, when check out was they kept the bags, that was good, at 9pm we went to leave, and I could not find my keys, I told the front desk I must of left them in the room, They told me the room was cleaned and already give away, I asked where would the house cleaning leave my keys them, no keys were turned in, 3hours latter they found my keys security went into the room and found them. I guess housecleaning takes the cake but not the guest toenails or keys out of the room. when complained not response from anyone. and dont selfpark it is at another hotel.

Disneyland august 2006
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/06
My family and I loved this hotel. It was beautiful and so close to Disney. This trip was a dream come true. I live in upstate N.Y. and we went to Ca to visit my sister. We stayed in Brea for 6 nights and at the grand californian for 5 nights. Both the hotel and disney were amazing. Our room was very clean and the maid service was impeccable!! The staff were also the best. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone that wants to stay on the disneyland property. Its only alittle more expensive than the other hotels and definitely worth it. The pools and grounds were also beautiful as well. Our children 15 and 9 were old enough so after a long day at the parks me and my husband would escape to the lounge. The large outdoor fireplace was so nice.

Best Vacation I ever had!
By AmberC, 10/9/06
This is a wonderfull place , convient location to both parks and Downtown Disney. My mother which rental a electric scooter from a local company in anaheim said it was her bast time at Disneyland because she was able to go to Downtown disney and all over because it was so close. Great service, clean rooms , chocolates on your pillows at night, private entrance to Disney California adventure. Valet service was awesome. On our day to depart We called the bellman to get out luggage he asked us if we had called for valet for our car yet, we hadnt so he called took our luggage and said meet you out front. we shortly met him out fromt, car warming up EVERYTHING was packed up already! AWESOME AWESOME SERVICE! I will stay there everytime I go to Disneyland!!

Can't stay anywhere else now!
By Amanda, 9/7/06
The location of this hotel can not be beat! We have stayed at less expensive hotels off-site and at the Disneyland Hotel and nothing compares to the Grand Californian. It is so nice to be able to get to your room quickly after a long day of playing. We also love that it is so convenient to go back to the room after getting drenched on Grizzly River Rapids! We only ate at one restaurant at the hotel. It was the Story Teller Cafe. We enjoyed it but would have like a bigger menu. Their meal choices are somewhat limited. The Story Teller has a nice buffet but it can't beat Goofy's Kitchen. We loved the atmosphere. The theme really appealed to us and the decorating was tasteful and comfortable. The lobby can be kind of hectic but the rooms and hallways are very quiet. The turn down service with Disney chocolates is a very nice touch. We thought the room sizes were great for a family of four adults. There are two sinks and the vanity is separate from the bathroom facilities. This makes it pretty easy for everyone to get ready in the morning. We bought tons of stuff and the bell person was at our room in no time to help us bring it to the car. We had no problems with the bell people, the housekeepers, or the front desk people. Everyone was very friendly. The only real negative was the parking. It is pretty far away from the hotel. We didn't mind it so much, though, because we just parked the car for four days and didn't need to go back to it until the end of the trip. We are going back for Christmas 2006 and can't wait!

Rooms very small and dirty
By Jeff, 6/15/06
Overall a very disappointing experience. Rooms were very small, and the service was so so. There also seemed to be a bit of a disconnect between the theme parks and the hotel. My youngest daughter who was 1-1/2 also got bug bites all over her. The hotel really doesn't need to go the extra mile because they are always fully booked. The only things worth noting that were positive was the location and our room service food on the last night. Everything else either fell below expectations or just barely met them
