Microtel Inn and Suites Mount Airy, Mount Airy

We found this Microtel just by driving through town and picking the most respectable looking place. Because of the great experience we had, we planned the stops for the rest of the trip according to where a microtel was, but did not find any that were managed as well as this one was. For a little over $50, we got a huge suite, well suited for business travelers staying for long periods. The room had: a large desk, a smaller desk, window seat, couch, table, microwave, fridge, and sink. The bathroom was of a respectable size also, and it was very clean. There also is an indoor pool. At the time of our stay, this microtel did not have wireless internet access. Across the street is a great place for mexican food. Though this hotel is a good distance from the Blue Ridge Parkway, it offers nearby highway access.
