Riu Tequila All-Inclusive, Playa del Carmen

My family just returned back from Riu Tequila on Feb 22 and have to say it was a great family vacation. We brought our 7 and 5 year old girls with us and they had a blast. Especially the kid disco and "Chu Chu ua" song. Food was very good but got tired of buffet after the third day. We tried the a la carte Steakhouse theme and I was very disappointed. Do not order the Top Sirloin. My wife's Ribeye was good though. The beach was beautiful. Only a 6 or 7 minute walk. They had a strtetched golf cart to take you too but the short walk on a sunny warm morning was fine. The beach was just regraded before we got there and they added 50-60 yards to it so there is lots of room. We got there early and pulled a few chairs right up to the water. Sand was like powder. We had lunch at the Riu Yucatan whenever we went to the beach. Pool was nice but get there early to get a good spot. Rooms were a good size. Entertainment staff did a great job. They put on shows every night. Michael Jackson Tribute was most popular. There are cats and these small creatures with ringed tails that come out near dark and roam freely on the grounds. Got pretty annoyed a few times. DO NOT FEED THESE ANIMALS!! I saw this guy with a bowl of popcorn near the pool and all of a sudden there must of been 20 of them come out and beg and try to take his food. Some were agressive. A wonder they do not get rid of them. All in all it was a real good vacation with the family. Staff were very helpful and polite. We talked to few people who were at Riu Yucatan and said Tequila was nicer. We will go back. Maybe try The Palace if just the 2 of us.

This place was the first all inclusive trip I did and since then I have gone to others and still this place was the best. The resort has fantastic food and drinks , and the beach and pools were beautiful! You are even aloud to use the pools and eat at the other Riu resorts in the area. I loved it and I would go back again!

This was our first trip to Mexico and it was the best vacation I have ever had. I have been all over the world and the staff at Riu Tequila was world class. From the front desk clerks to the grounds keepers every encounter was positive. The food was awsome!! The bars were Awesome!! The beach was a short walk and well worth it. My wife and I brought our 18 year old son and his girlfriend with us and they were never bored. There is so much to do just within the resort, you never have to leave. Very clean, great location, value and Service all AWSOME!! We are going back in a few months and plan on bringing all five of our kids this time.

My husband and I went to the Tequila for our honeymoon in May 08. I am already figuring out travel options so we can go back this April. The food was wonderful; loved the swim up bar. The beach was beautiful. Our room was always clean. The resort has a wonderful layout. I would suggest going to Chichen Itza while there. It was an incredible experience. The entertainment at night was amusing. I have already promised my thriteen year old that is where we are going for her eighteenth birthday. Beds were kind of uncomfortable; king is two beds stuck together; I kept falling in the crack. This is a wonderful vacation on a budget. A person could spend the whole time between the resorts (although, I thought the Tequila was the best), and never spend another dime. Great five night trip for under $2000!

The Tequila is heaven! The staff are excellent and bend over backwards to make your stay pleasant and memorable. It may not be the fanciest of the Riu resorts, but it is the most fun by FAR. The staff are young and energetic!

This place is so beautiful, it is so relaxing, the staff are absolutely awesome and very friendly and helpful. Everything about this vacation was perfect. I totally recommend people to go and check it out.

We have gone there for 5 years, and each time it has been great. The Food is fantastic, and the service is as well.

This hotel was awesome! Very clean, extremely friendly staff. Make sure you go down to the bar and see Alejandro and ask for a Boom Boom shot!!

I loved everything about this trip. I had the best week of my life while staying here!!! I would and still do recommend this to anyone.

we liked everthing about this hotel from the service, the friendliness of the staff, the food, the beautiful gardens and pools, and the comfort of the spacious rooms, absolutly could find no fault with this hotel, they cater for all nationalities, plenty of enetertainment to keep you amused if you want it or simply relax by the pool if you dont, food was brilliant and very well presented, again a very good selection. Playa carmen a short taxi ride away well worth a visit. cant wait to return
