Good location
I stayed at the Broadway plaza with 3 other friends last May. We stayed in the Junior Suite and the room was huge. All of our bags and just junk never touched each other. There was enough room for two additional people and there was a let out couch in the room and mini fridge.
The complimentary (continental) breakfast was interested and pretty hard to catch (it ended at 9 or 10 am, but if you arrived anywhere after 9:30, you'd be hard pressed to find anything other than juice. Still, it was a good thing to have for free in the morning I suppose.
The hotel is maybe a block or two from the 40/40 club (Jay Z's club), so I guess the neighborhood is a pretty cool spot. Now, one big thing is that this street is booming during the work week. I guess it is some retail or wholesale street (Broadway). There were a ton of little wholesale stores, but if you were not a vendor or a store owner, you were not really allowed to purchase from teh stores unless you met a specific dollar amount.
The hotel is not very noticeable from the main street, but in a sense, this is a good thing. It fits in well with the block. The hotel is pretty close to the Empire state Building and near two or three subway stops, with one maybe 2 blocks away. Very accessible and spacious. If yo ulove space or are just not a fan of squeezing past anyone in a hotel room, this is the place to stay. The restroom by the way, is huge. Loved it.
One CON: If you reserve a hotel room with the broadway plaza and need to cancel it due to maybe a last minute change or cheaper rate somewhere else, THEY DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO CANCEL TWO DAYS PRIOR. I found a cheaper hotel and was gonna cancel, but Broadway Plaza actually called to warn me that if I canceled, I would be charged for the first night of my stay. Not cool.
I would stay again if I'm in a big group and I know that space is a necessity. In the average New York hotel, space is not that great.
