Great Hotel. Will definitely stay there again.
By Chris, 07/21/09
The location was great. The room was HUGE! The bathroom was HUGE! I have stayed in N.Y. before and have payed more money for rooms that were half the size. Could not hear any noise from the street. Had a good view of the Empire State Building. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The doormen Anthony and Tony were also very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area is small and warm. We took our breakfast to our room where we were comfortable and had control of the tv. The area around the hotel looked a little sketchy at night, but we sometimes rolled in at 3am and felt perfectly safe. The pizza downstairs was really good. Overall, I would highly recommend the Broadway Plaza Hotel.

Mice in Ceiling!!!
By Unhappy Customers, 02/18/09
There were mice scratching and running around in the ceiling. Don't depend on the front desk to give you the right directions. Three different staff members gave us wrong directions. When we got home we realized that they made unauthorized charges to our account. They said it was no big deal because "The changes are just pending and that you have plenty of money in our account. I don't understand why you are so upset" The management had excuses for each problem. While some of the staff attempted to be helpful none of the issues were ultimately resloved.

Great Deal/Good Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/08
We stayed at the Broadway Plaza in December of this year (2008). The hotel staff was very nice, the hotel is older, but it is very clean and our room was great. Would definately stay here again. The location is very central to everything. Next door is Broadway Pizza where you can have a great breakfast for $3.50!! We would pick up breakfast, go back to our room and eat and then hit the streets for sightseeing. Had a wonderful time and would certainly stay here again.

Excellent location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/08
The location, half way down Broadway, is very central for all major tourist sites in NYC. We took a twin queen room which was well decorated and very clean. There is no bar or lounge and the breakfast room is very small, (we took our coffee and breakfast to eat in the room) but for the price this hotel would be difficult to beat

We were ripped off!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/07
We ended up not staying here because we found a better deal elsewhere - but the hotel still charged us USD$400 +. Why? Because they said we cancelled too late. We did, in fact, cancel in time but because the website we used was based in Europe the timezones worked against us. And the Broadway Plaza Hotel would not budge on a refund or even part refund. Rude, off hand service and just downright mean. Not a good taste of NY service - hope they enjoy our hard earnt travel dollars because we didn't!

an excellent deal in NYC
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/07
My teenage daughter and I spent 12 days at this lovely little hotel. It was very private and felt like we were in an apartment. When we first drove up though, I thought "OMG what kind of a place have we booked into". It was 07h00 Saturday morning and the area was deserted. The staff were great and they kept our luggage till we were able to check in later. The hotel room was big, overlooked Broadway and was really quiet. It had the most magnificent view of the Empire State adn Chrysler Buildings at night. The bathroom was enormous for the type of place this was. I was expecting a poky little room ...this was great. The hotel was located in the Wholesale District and that meant that there were a lot of people hanging around in the day and not a soul at night. We were never bothered by the people, they were polite and never seedy nor disrespectful as noted by some other reviewers. At night, we would walk up to Time Square and the Theater District and have dinner after the show and then walk back to the hotel after midnite. We never felt scared and never saw any seedy people or frightening behaviours. The last few blocks were quiet but we always felt safe. The staff were great. The doormen and concierges were all wonderful and the front staff and cleaning staff were always most friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Save the money and stay here instead of the more expensive "name brand hotels" and use your savings to go to shows and do shopping. You'll be pleased you did.

Good location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/07
I stayed at the Broadway plaza with 3 other friends last May. We stayed in the Junior Suite and the room was huge. All of our bags and just junk never touched each other. There was enough room for two additional people and there was a let out couch in the room and mini fridge. The complimentary (continental) breakfast was interested and pretty hard to catch (it ended at 9 or 10 am, but if you arrived anywhere after 9:30, you'd be hard pressed to find anything other than juice. Still, it was a good thing to have for free in the morning I suppose. The hotel is maybe a block or two from the 40/40 club (Jay Z's club), so I guess the neighborhood is a pretty cool spot. Now, one big thing is that this street is booming during the work week. I guess it is some retail or wholesale street (Broadway). There were a ton of little wholesale stores, but if you were not a vendor or a store owner, you were not really allowed to purchase from teh stores unless you met a specific dollar amount. The hotel is not very noticeable from the main street, but in a sense, this is a good thing. It fits in well with the block. The hotel is pretty close to the Empire state Building and near two or three subway stops, with one maybe 2 blocks away. Very accessible and spacious. If yo ulove space or are just not a fan of squeezing past anyone in a hotel room, this is the place to stay. The restroom by the way, is huge. Loved it. One CON: If you reserve a hotel room with the broadway plaza and need to cancel it due to maybe a last minute change or cheaper rate somewhere else, THEY DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO CANCEL TWO DAYS PRIOR. I found a cheaper hotel and was gonna cancel, but Broadway Plaza actually called to warn me that if I canceled, I would be charged for the first night of my stay. Not cool. I would stay again if I'm in a big group and I know that space is a necessity. In the average New York hotel, space is not that great.

WE ARE GOING AGAIN ON FRIDAY
By Chase, 03/11/07
the hotel is awesome, the workers were excellent answering any questions that we had with us being out out towners and all. they assisted us in finding restuarants clubs, etc.....I loved the spacious rooms and the view was awesome as well. Jay Z's 40/40 club is only two blocks away

Pleasantly Surprised
By Letitia, 09/05/06
Once I got over how small the hotel looked from the outside, and how tiny the lobby was, I was pleased to find a very clean and comfortable room awaiting me. The shower stall was a bit small for my taste, but certainly adequate. There was no loud street noise filtering through the windows, which was a plus. The concierges and front desk staff were friendly, helpful and briskly competent. The only drawback was that the drink machine was empty and I had to walk to a nearby deli to get a Coke. All in all, I had a wonderful stay at a great price.

Worst hotel stay ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/06
I was unable to sleep AT ALL due to the screeching elevator all night long. It was like fingernails on a blackboard for hours. When I approached the front desk, they were unable to do anything as they SAID the hotel was sold out. And they intimated that there was no problem at all with the elevator. Baloney! Safety is obviously not important to them as they have not had the elevator serviced recently. Do not stay at this hotel, they do not care about their customers.
