would never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/8/09
my wife and i stayed at this hotel on the last week of jan 2009 the week london was snowed in, we had a terrible time in this hotel all because the staff especially the mangement thought that 6 inchs of snow made the whole world grinde to a stop. We could neither get room service or house keeping to our room on our final night even though we had been charged 407pounds to stay an extra night due to our train been cancelled, when i asked one of the duty managers if or when we could have our rroom made up all he could say was that they had no staff to do it ! not the answer that you or anyone else would expect in a 407 pound a night hotel. He was the most unhelpfull, unprofessional person i have ever met, i have stayed in london many times and never experienced such a low standard of basic politeness and unprofessionalism any where else that i have stayed , i will certainly not be going back or recomending it to anyone. A very disappointed customer

Great Hotel
By James H, 3/18/07
I have stayed at the Renaissance Chancery Court 3 time with my family and we are planning another visit this fall. The rooms are spacious, and the staff is fabulous! Covent Garden is walking distance, and there are lots of great restaurants in the area. Definitely not for the budget traveller, though.

Just about perfect -
By Craig Bedell, 8/26/06
As a place to stay in London you can't do much better. Got a room for three as we were "on holiday" The room was as big as you'd expect in the US - nicely appointed with plenty of chairs and very comfortable. Fantastic location for getting to the Tube - not more than a two minute walk or walk to the Brittish Musuem and Covent Garden area for shopping. The breakfast at the hotel is very expensive - we took the price with breakfast included. There are options nearby for brkfst, lunch and dinner as well as a grocery store. We wanted the convenience of brkfst in the hotel. Wonderful staff. Beautiful facilities and so very peaceful. We basically heard no traffic and really nothing of the other house guests. The quietest hotel I have been in a long time and I travel on business constantly. I recommend the 7th floor facint the courtyard - you can see out over the rest of the hotel and get a view out towards Westminster and The Eye.

A very classy experience
By Katherine, 6/24/07
We loved this place, especially the stone inner courtyard and beautiful staircase. It's in a quiet, dignified neighborhood near the High Holborn tube stop. There's a Pret a Manger quite nearby (fast food that puts America's to shame), as well as a Boots pharmacy and a grocery store. You can walk to the British Museum and to one of my favorite London food haunts: Wagamama, a "Japanese noodle bar" which is totally addictive. It's hard to comment on the value because we stayed for free with Hilton points. I can't even remember what the going rate was when we went. Our only complaint is that as we sat in the lounge area enjoying our complimentary breakfast the day we checked out, a self-important hotel management-type employee came over and asked (with just a hint of condescending superiority) if we were actually guests at the hotel. Rather than say to her what I really wanted to ("I'm a Diamond Level VIP, you cow, so shab off!"), I demurely said yes, we had just checked out. I guess our jeans and backpacks made her think we were scroungy parasites, but they were trim little daypacks (not giant steel-framed, mountain-crossing affairs), and we were well-groomed and clean-cut. Sadly, this is what I remember most about our visit. She really made us feel like scrubby ne'er-do-wells who didn't belong in such a fancy place. Still, a nice place for a business traveller, or a couple who treasure quiet as much as we do. Probably not the best family place.

Expensive - but very nice
By Walter, 8/18/07
Top notch hotel w/ fabulous service. I stayed on the club level where a continental breakfast was served (recommended). Location was good if you are in the financial district. Good for business travelers and couples. Would not recommend for families. Overall, expensive, but very nice.

Great Hotel - HORRIBLE concierge
By BlaneT, 9/24/10
This was my first trip to Europe. The hotel and restaurant were excellent. Nice big rooms and great selection at the breakfast buffet (which is the only meal we ate at this hotel). My only complaint was the INCREDIBLY RUDE concierge service. I have traveled all over the United States, Asia and South America (and usually stay in 5 star hotels) and have never encountered a concierge service that was as unwilling to help and went out of their way to IGNORE their guests. I guess they feel they are just too good for their guests. I will not stay there again for this reason.

Absolutely Great
By Sheila, 12/2/05
I have traveled alot around Europe and many times you have to be very flexible as the accomodations are not always like home. The Renaissance was way more than I expected from the entrance to the rooms to the robes and the comfortable beds. The location was very convenient and I will be making a return visit in summer 06. I highly suggest this property. I am taking three friends with me this time that ever never been to Europe so they will be pleasantly surprised.

Great AARP price and location in central London
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/24/04
We found that this hotel was more than we expected in the heart of London. The two full sized bedroom was plenty of room for the three of us. The marble bathroom was exceptional for the price. Less than 1/2 block from the Tube enterence and cornor store and bakery's where we purchased breakfast and snacks during our stay. About 3 to 5 blocks from the British Museum. We got a AAPR price directly from the hotel's website, not from AAPR website about 40% off best price listed anywhere. Great stay and would recommend to anyone.
