Super 8 Motel, Erwin

Stayed for only 9 hours.Was over charged 20 dollars.When i showed management the internet price and explained that i had ben over charged,I was told that i should have showed him this before i rented the room.'Nothing he could do.'The carpet had cigarette burn holes and was badly stained. The two sitting chairs were dirty and stained.The box spring was tattered and torn.When i showed this to management i was told that i should have looked at the room before i paid for it.I had to pay in full before he would give me a key to even see the room.Management was rude about the whole thing.Never again.No no no.

The staff was very friendly and mannered. They were willing to help us with everything... what to do in the area, where to eat, etc. I read the 2 bad reviews on this site before staying there but had no other choice due to affordability issues and was surprised at the service I got... It was exactly opposite of the reviews stated on this site. Not only were the prices great, but the rooms were spacious and spotless. The breakfast was very filling and there were a variety of foods (cereals, muffins, bagels, croissants, donuts, milk, orange juice, coffee, tea, etc.). We were only planning on staying a single night due to the two critical reviews I read here, but I ended up staying for my full visit (five nights). I would definitely come back again with my family!

Location is good. If you don't mind the power substation. Can't help that. That's all! The whole experience was awful. The place smelled very smokey as soon as we walked in. I choked when I saw the NO Smoking sign. The continental breakfast was a joke! Meager and pathetic at best. We never ate nor would eat breakfast there. The iron and board that you had to get at the front desk literally had CRUD on them. After arriving and staying a night (we paid for four), we tried to leave early. We were informed that without giving them 24 hours notice they would charge us for another night. When we arrived I had asked about checking out early. The woman at the desk said I would get a refund. Now I know why I had to pay in full up front. I have traveled the U.S. and stayed at Super 8s before and never had issues with them. To avoid the possibility of having probems in the future I will NOT stay at another. Nothing "Super" about this 8. I will send a longer more specific version of this review to the president of Super 8 as well.

The staff was great (friendly and helpful). The room was impeccable and you could literally "eat off the floors". It can't be beat for the price.

I liked how the custmer service was friendly, the price was affordable,and the setting was neat and clean. There were a lot of tourist attractions near the hotel, like wetlands, ruby falls, and bristol speedway. I anticipate my next visit, and I plan to go there during vacation.
