Will definitely stay again !!!
By Alin Vasilas, 01/24/10
Great mini-hotel with easy access to NYC subway (no.7) and 15 min from Manhattan. Why spend money on a fancy hotel if you are there to sightsee. Friendly staff, room was clean, quiet, and had all amenities of a good 3 star hotel. Breakfast is included (muffins, pastries, cereal, premium coffee, juices) - and complimentary newspaper. All worked out well, spent 4 nights, couldn't find a reason to complain. We will stay there again if in NYC, its the best bargain for the money.

Great location and rates!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/18/08
Nothing really bad to say about the place except not always someone available at the front desk. When we checked in we had to wait 20 minutes before someone even noticed we were there. But other than that it was a nice, clean place. Close to subway station - #7 Woodside takes you into Time Square. Rooms were cleaned each day, not alot of noise. Rates were good. Would stay there again.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/12/07
Our rooms were in the basement of the hotel. (2 rooms booked) There wasnt even walking room in the room because it was so small. the rugs were filty. i asked for a roll away bed and they didnt have one or the room to put one in even though the main number said it was ok. i ended up purchasing a 3rd room because we they didnt have a roll away. it was just a nasty experience.

Good Value

Quiet building, even though it is next to a busy street. Clean rooms and very helpful staff. Free parking was nice as well. Will stay here again.

Perfectly acceptable
By H, 08/27/06
My husband and I stayed here for a few nights. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the hotel staff were efficient, and the breakfast was adequate (cereal, muffins, danishes, coffee, tea, and juice). The hotel has few frills -- the rooms are small and we had some trouble with the cable TV and the room safe. Otherwise, the hotel was all it promised: clean, safe, and inexpensive for NYC. The laptop with internet in the lobby is a great resource. We really liked the Woodside Queens area where it was located. The area is diverse and has interesting shopping and dining within a few blocks. The walk to the 7 train took us 5-10 minutes, and the hotel was easy to find.

Needs improvement
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/06
The front desk person was so rude. My room was in the basement next to a opened staircase which I felt unsafe. I went back to the front desk and was told in a nasty manner that there were no other rooms since I was in a smoking room. For a single female I felt unsafe. The room was clean and had no problem with that, only feeling unsafe next to the staircase going outside. I was told that 212 number was long distance and had to pay $5.00 for the use of the phone. I lived in NY for 50 years and never knew that a 212 call from 718 is long distance.

Horrid Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/05
The stay at this hotel was horrendous. The other reviews here have it correct about this place. Stemming from the rude clerks to the odorous rooms, the place is unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend bringing your laptop computers to this hotel. There's a notice next to the cable outlet telling you that the high speed internet is free, when on their laminated paper, it tells you that the internet costs $5 a day. I know that doesn't seem like much, but at the cost of ripping you off? Last I checked, that was illegal. I would find a better hotel to stay at than this. This place is way under par.

Not Recommended
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/05
This hotel is horrible. First off, when we made our reservations to stay there, we were told that our rooms were paid for, and once we got there, we had to pay for the rooms. The service is terrible. The concierges are rude and very unhelpful. We requested being on a non-smoking floor, and we ended up staying on a smoking floor instead. The only highlight of this hotel is the beds, which were comfortable. Location is also horrible. There are lots of questionable people that roam around this hotel frequently.

reservation screwed up
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/04
although my reservation was for a non-smoking room, they placed us in a smoking room... and where unwilling to help us by moving us to a non-smoking room. After a lot of "convincing" they returned our money...
