Excellent Location Great Price!
By Tara, 08/24/09
My favorite thing about the Comfort Suites Historic District was location. Easy enough to walk to Historic Downtown Savannah. Parked our car at the beginning of the week and never had to move it. Place felt safe and secure. Service desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Offered tips and suggestions on local attractions. Rooms were clean and spacious. View was excellent. Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi and nice outside area for sunning. Good continental breakfast except for the hotel staff worker who was a little anal retentive about the waffle machine. Definitely would stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the historic district of savannah for a great price. Stayed here for our honeymoon and they made it very special.

Don't waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/09
I was lied to about reservations so they could get the full walk-in price. Then I was double billed and told if I disputed it i would be charged with criminal activity of services reinderd without payment. I was told my double bill would be taken care of from the current GM who lost her job 2 days later, and the new GM is re-running the charge and said and I quote "We have had problems in the past with peoples reservations and I will take care of this". I was called by the hotel and told they would not dispute my dispute and the money should automatically be credited back. It has been near 2 months and I have yet to see any credit and CHOICE itself says they have no say so to what the hotel does. I stay on the road weeks at a time and have always stayed with Choice Hotels. I now know when you really need them they completely fail. Stayers BEWARE!!

Dishonest room rate Disclosure
By Private, 04/27/09
Beware! They increase room rates without any notice! I was quoted : $119 + $17.72 in misc taxes / day. Expensive. . . But agreed to stay. Stayed 3 nights: At checkout time I discovered . . . . My last two nights was charged $179.00 +$25.52 tax /day! 1st night I suffered large spider bites in room and bedding Complained! I informed house keeping and front desk. I was told not their problem. WIFI and/or Ethernet didn't work. I was blamed for not complaining about it. I was blamed for not checking the rates daily as excuse for excessive room charges. Then I was told they need to check the desk video logs, then they decided not to check logs concerning the check-in room quote conversation. I was told to leave at checkout time and call Cristina. RUDE!! When I did call . . it took two days of voice mail and then she referred to Russ. After I complained, Russ would only give me my 10% AAA discount/credit. Very DISHONEST !! Buy the way. . The "deluxe" continental breakfast . . . I rate as just "FAIR". It is the same as anywhere else. Also, there are very few tables with little room do sit and enjoy breakfast. I will NEVER stay there again. Buyer beware!!!

By bahama moma, 06/30/08
The people were very friendly, rooms clean, close to river street.House keeping was wonderful,Erica made sure we had every thing we needed. The indoor pool is so small. The breakfast was not good at all.Use only yellow cab,mc has crack head drivers. This hotel would be great if they had an outdoor pool.

This is a great hotel!!
By Vacationer, 05/30/08
Although this hotel is the last one on Bay street, it may be the best. The staff here is the greatest. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. We booked just one night by telephone, but after seeing the hotel we quickly booked another night. It is a very nice and clean hotel. We will definately stay again. We had the pleasure of dealing with one of the nicest front desk people in the business. Yolanda is one of the best and nicest desk clerks we have ever dealt with and we travel quite allot.

hhmmmm?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/07
The location was not the greatest across the street from the housing projects, employees seem like they lived there.I felt I was bothering them when I asked them questions. Room was not ready till the check in time, 3pm,cant believe it was not ready before. I was even asked by a staff member in the elavator if I needed service in my room, DUH!of course, I slept and showered in it last night. Just do your job, remember tourists are paying your salaries. The room size was great.Would stay again if the hotel was moved closer to the historic district and had a whole new staff.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/23/07
We had call this hotel 4 times prior to arrival wanting two rooms connected. This was our third stay at this hotel. We arrived early to get the two rooms together. We were given one roon on 3rd and one on 2nd. They said they were booked, but after we checked in, people were still checking in at 11:00 PM. They could have give us rooms together, just not very helpful. Room was not very clean, bathtub not cleaned and had to request more than 2 towels. Elevator too small. Don't think we will go back to that hotel. Neighborhood not good at all. Was told by the staff not to walk to river front.

3:00 Check In?????????
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/06
Needed to check in early in order to make a meeting. Was told could check in at 2:00 then told 2:30 then 3:00 which is their regular check in time. At 3:00 was told housekeeping had not released rooms yet. Many irate customers in the lobby. Had to leave for meeting so did not get to shower before meeting. Computer in lobby did not work. Floor in bathroom was sticky. A long and not easy walk to get to restaurants and shopping. Staff not overly knowledgeable regarding eating establishments. Helpful with booking a tour. Quite hotel. Neighborhood is questionable. Over priced.
