Best Value Inn Onley, Onley

I had a reservation with the Best Value Inn in Onley, VA. I arrived around 3:30 p.m. and presented my printed out Value Club card. He said, “what is this?” and I explained what it was. He scrutinized it, then said, “Oh, your card is coming via USPS and this isn’t anything. I explained that the next line said “you can start saving right away by printing out this temporary card and taking it with you on your next trip”. The owner (?) then called a number and asked “what is this card, I don’t know anything about it.” I clearly heard the woman on the phone say, “you have never heard of this? How long have you had your franchise?” He replied that he had it for 5 years, and no one has ever tried to use it. After about 15 minutes of them on the phone, I asked if this was going to be much longer, I had friends to meet up the road and he said “I’m talking to the lady”. She then gave him a number to “Larry”, which he said o.k, o.k as she was reading him the number, but he never wrote the number down. He then told her “no, don’t worry, I’ll talk to Larry.” When he hung up I said, look let’s forget about this value card, just give me a room at the AAA rate and he said “no, I’m not giving you any discount; you’re getting the ‘rack’ rate”. I then took the card I had filled out and told him he was an asshole as I left. He ran out the door after me, got 1 inch from my face, and said I’ll drop you right here, who do you think you’re talking too! And I told him to go ahead and touch me, I’ll kick your ass. He said I’m calling the police, get off my property, don’t ever step on my property again, and if you want to take this further here’s my home phone number (?) I have never been so insulted, or disgusted, in my life with a so called “business man”. I will never visit another Americas Best Value Inn again. This guy and his family have no right owning a business, and from what I can tell the little tiny hotel is suffering very badly, I never see any cars parked there. On the bright side, I found a wonderful B&B up the road that takes pets, and we will be staying there in the future.
