ibis Tanger Free Zone, Tangiers

When we booked it, the website led us to believe that it was a nice hotel, close to town. IT IS NOT! This hotel is in the industrial part of town which is very far away from both the new ferry port, and from town. Despite the fact that it is in Morocco, the taxi rides were very expensive because of the hotel's isolated location. The hotel itself was in a noisy industrial area, and there were no restaurants/entertainment in this bad part of town. Though there were a few helpful employees, the staff as a whole did not really seem to want to help the guests. The rooms were very small, and smelled like a backed up sewer system. Also, everywhere in the hotel was a smoking area, so it smelled bad wherever you went. And remember, everyone in Morocco is out for money, so book things online, and avoid being harassed for tips.
