Newberry Hampton
By Southaven Resident, 03/08/08
Overall, a very nice place to stay. The unique exterior ranks as the best Hampton I've ever been to. I believe it even won a design award. The interior is equally as nice. Great details in the carpet, woodwork and rooms. The bed was especially comfortable. Overall a great stay and a great Hampton location. If you need to stay somewhere near downtown or the Opera House - this is the place. I was able to walk everywhere. The staff was friendly also. I would recommend to anyone. My only complaint was that when I returned to the room the second night of my stay, I went to put the key-card in the slot and the door pushed right open before I put the key in. Nothing was missing by sheer luck. I believe the Housekeeping staff let the door swing closed when leaving and never checked to see that it was locked. When I communicated this to the Manager the next day, he did not seem very concerned and said he'd have Maintenance check it out rather dismissively. Had something been missing, I would have made a bigger stink about it with him. I would have liked to see him show a little more concern as if he actually recognized that his staff compromised the security of a patron. My recommendation is to put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door when out to eliminate this risk.

Absolutely Perfect
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/06
This is the way a facility should be run. Everything to make you feel at home. It is by far the cleanest place I have ever stayed, and I stay out 20 to 30 weeks a year. This would be the perfect place to go to just plain get away for a day or two. Beautiful revitalized downtown area. Quiet college town. Check out the antiques and resturants.

The BEST for your $$$, if you are traveling through Newberry-Columbia, SC!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/05
We have a student that is currently attending Newberry College. So, we've stayed at a few of the hotels in the area. This is, by far, the BEST! It is one of the nicest Hampton Inns we've ever stayed in, as well. If you are headed to the Opera House, or the college, you couldn't pick a more convenient location!
