Holiday Inn, Seattle

As a regular traveler, I was pleasantly pleased at the service and accomodations at the Holiday Inn Seattle Center. My stay started off with a professional yet warm greeting, and assistance with my steady stream of annoying questions and unreasonable requests. Since I was too oblivious and confused to find the very basic parking on my own, several of the staff members were quick to point me in the right direction. Once I got to my room, I couldn't figure out how to operate my keys, eventhough the directions are clearly printed on the back in several languages. The phones are also simple enough for a chimpanzee to master, yet I was baffled by the bold printed instructions. Luckily, the staff were quick to once again "hold my hand" through this trying ordeal. That said, I managed to figure out how to make it through the night without any major catastrophies, thanks largely to the extremely patient and dutiful staff. Kudos all around.

We booked three rooms at this hotel and everything about the stay was wonderful! The staff was very helpful and the rooms are very nice! You are getting a five star hotel at a three star price. The restaurant is good and the location is spectacular! I reccomend this hotel.

Our stay seemed nice enough. We were on our honeymoon, and this was the first stop before our Olympic Forest journey. Well, 2 days after we stayed at this Holiday Inn, I noticed that I hadn't seen my brand new pair of suede boots in my luggage, and right away realized that I had left them where I took them off, at the foot of the bed in our room there. We had not been anywhere else, and I knew exactly where I had left them. Well, I called to explain and thought for sure they were going to tell me that they found them and I'd get them back, but nobody had found anything. Such bullshit. I know that it's my loss and I shouldn't expect them to be responsible for lost items, but when you KNOW you left something, and know WHERE you left it, and it does not turn up, that is not okay. They told me that their policy is to save items for 90 days, and that they donate them to charity. WEll, it had been 2 days. Just 2 days. This tells me that their housekeepers have a problem with theft. I was told a GM would call me back to discuss this issue, and I left a message on his machine, but still have not heard back. It's been a week now.

We had originally booked a room with a king bed only to be welcomed with a full. As if this weren't discouraging enough, the walls and ceiling were paper thin-the people above us must have been preparing for a marathon because all we heard all night was the constant patter in feet! When we asked for a new room the hotel front desk representative was unsympathetic and told us that was the room we were stuck with and there was nothing she could do.

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at Sweethoteldeals. Net They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

First off, this hotel is great, there are a couple of problems we had. The first is the parking garage, it does cost ten dollars a night, and the set up (location for entry) is not the best, and unless you drive a compact car, don't plan on easy parking, there is a very low clearance height and the spaces are so small. There is concrete everywhere between spaces and that makes parking even harder. Our second issue we had, was the cost of simple things like the tv. A movie on their tv foir one viewing costs 11.99+ tax, you can almost buy the dvd for that price where I live. They have some disney and kids shows little 30 minute programs you can purchase and believe me if you have kids this may be an option needed since their cartoon chanel is less then favorable. Anyhow, it costs 2.99 for a 30 minute show. These issues may seem minor I know, and that is why we would stay there again no problem. Just giving a heads up!!!

The hotel was very clean. Staff was great and welcoming, and provided a toothbrush and toothpaste after I forgot mine. King bed was the most comfortable I've slept on in a long time. It was one of those rare hot days in Seattle and I could have used a pool, but most downtown hotels don't have pools anyway. Stay on the Dexter St. side of the building to avoid the road noise from Aurora Ave. I was staying due to surgery at a local hospital and got a better rate as a result. Didn't have to pay the $8 daily parking fee either. I would easily stay here again.

Great rates: $119 for first night and $129 for second two nights. The hotel gave me a comfortable two room suite with a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. Front desk service was above average. Room rates included $10 toward purchase of breakfast at attached restaurant--service there was great and the people who worked there were friendly and told me a little about their lives in the Seattle area. Only downside for some travelers will be that it's a healthy walk to real downtown. I don't mind walking, but I know many people do not like to walk more than a block or two. I would stay here again, although next time I might just try the Westin or Hyatt downtown to see what that's like.

Pros: location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms, parking (pay), good breakfast at Emerald Grill (the hotel's restaurant). Cons: Street noise. I would certainly stay here again but would ask for a room in the middle of the hotel, not facing Aurora Avenue (due to the traffic noise). Everything else was good about the stay, and I'm a picky traveler!
