WARNING!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/30/11
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway. I will NEVER recommend this hotel and will NEVER stay here again. The first day that we arrived, we went to the pool. I left my husband at the pool to use the restroom and never returned. I went missing for 4 hours and was found in the fitness center restroom with my swim suit bottoms missing. I was drugged and raped and put in the restroom to be found 4 hours later. We are taking the necessary legal actions to ensure this doesnt happen to anyone else ever again because after further investigating - it was a STAFF MEMBER of the SECURITY department that committed the crime!! I will NEVER stay at this facility again for obvious reasons. Please be aware and do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I havent posted any reviews for a year due to this event turning my life upside down and legal dealings. However, I do not want this to happen to anyone else so please be aware and do not stay at this hotel.

2 day getaway for the Wife and I
By Cedric, 9/7/10
Likes: -LOCATION, It is away from FQ to be quite but close enough to walk to, 6-8 Blocks. -POOL/Hot-tub, On roof and great views of the NO skyline, no overt voyeuristic viewing from other buildings, great little lounge seating. -FITNESS room. Free apples, cold towels and new style workout machines. -CLUB level room, 4th floor only, breakfast Mon-Fri only and Sunday evening snacks. -ART throughout the hotel. -STAFF, all were great and very helpfull Dislikes: -POOL is too small and needs repair, lining is loose and it needs to be replaced, no real shaded areas to sit. If sitting next to the pool, limited seating areas, splashing from kids will happen. -OVERPOWERING scent of perfume in the lobby. -TV Limited number of channels and still using tube TVs..??? -Internet fees for wired connection only, no free wireless..??? -Harrah Casino, Too close, lost too much money..:( This was during an off weekend, $119 per night Stayed over the labor-day weekend SAT-MON, our 20th anniversary and received comp passes to the Club level 4th floor. Quick check in Rooms are OK in size, Bathroom was average, water pressure fine. King sized bed was great, very comfy and clean. Bed was more firm than most hotels. Quick elevators, never waited more than 30 sec. Valet was too expensive, $28++, Parked on the street for both days and never had to move the car. Would stay here again at the lower prices. Not worth over $149.

LAST NAME EVER FIRST NAME GREATEST
By diamond, 8/1/10
I had a wonderful time. It was absolutley breathe taking. The staff was friendly and provided me with everything I needed. The pool was small but most relaxing and the hot tub was so comfortable!! The gym was clean and convenient. I had alot of fresh towels and the bell boy Corey was wonderful and friendly. The nite shift was also very helpful when i lost my room key in the hot tub. I would love to move here.I will be back.

We will return back to LA and we will stay here.
By Ms.ATL., 8/18/09
The only problem I had was the bartenders weren't very friendly. They were very slow when business was slow. I felt invisible each time I went to the bar. So I bought my own bottle and poured my own drink!!!!!!!

Nice and comfortable
By Purple Tulip, 5/8/09
This hotel was very nice and comfortable with an outstanding staff. We had to call the front desk to get a mini fridge in our room for no extra charge. There isnt too much of a variety of restaurants immediately close. The French Quarter was at least a 10 block walk and it wasnt too bad the first day but not good for any sort of heels. I couldnt imagine making that walk in the summer. The next time I go to NO I will definitely stay closer to the action in the French Quarter.

Good except for $28 parking.
By John, 3/1/09
Call me old fashioned, shouldn't the hotel have FREE parking? Or at least discounted parking. Beware that the valet at this place will charge $28 bucks to park your car overnight. I find this to be an outrageous, price gouging scam to perpetrate on guests. They sort of hide the sign in front of the building so you pull up and unload like you would do at any hotel and the guy goes to park your car, it's only later that you find out it's $28 PER NIGHT billed to your room. The lady at the front desk did explain to me that you can park on the street during the weekends for free. It's relatively safe around the hotel but if you have a nice car, you may be asking for trouble. The hotel otherwise is pretty nice but the carpet in the room, as is often the case, could have been cleaner. My wife kept her shoes on and most women would probably do the same, I'm a guy though and dirty carpet doesn't bother me too much as long as I have socks on. Also, the bellhop sort of gave me a dirty look when I carried my bags and clothes to my car myself when I checked out. Sorry, your hotel shouldn't have price gouged me. I'm happy to tip for service but rip me off and you won't get dime one from me.

Perfect for Essence Festival
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/08
I am currently staying at the Renaissance Arts for the second time over the 4th of July weekend. The hotel was able to give me the same room from the year before, modern, roomy, exposed brick, views and very sound proof. The staff is always willing to help make my stay enjoyable! Oh, forgot to mention the inside of the hotel features art works throughout, with a full art exhibit on the first floor.

have stayed at better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/1/08
The location of this hotel is wonderful! We were able to walk to the downtown area, french quarter, riverwalk area or catch the trolleys to venture further out without any problems. The staff was either very helpful or very rude. We were enjoying the free breakfast and then were rudely told we were not entitled to it, in mid mouthful. No explanations, no attempt to see what it cost, just "Leave". I had to call the front desk to request housekeeping since our room was not yet cleaned at 3pm, and the desk clerk asked if I had the do not disturb sign on my door! So, a little customer service education would have made this a great hotel!
