Motel 6, Athens

The staff was very friendly and attentive, the motel was clean. The room was just a bit small for three adults staying a week, but it was NOT uncomfortable. NO SIGN of bed bugs! A lot of stores and restaurants close by. And there are a TON of attractions and activities within an hour or less of this location.

After having a long day on the road, I decided to stop for a rest. The wife and I were quite tired to even unpack. We waited at the front desk for ten min. until finally someone came and answered the ringing phone and the bell at the desk. I kept cool and asked for a room, the attendant asked us to wait for a moment while she grabbed something from the back, so we waited patiently for another ten min. Finally the attendant returned to the desk and immediately picked up the phone and dialed some numbers and stuck her index finger at us to wait (very rude I might add)so we were still very patient at this point, for yet another ten min. By this point I was very perturbed at the way we were being treated, the attendant finally returned and asked us "yes, may I help you?" without even batting an eye to the fact she'd seen us two previous times before that, so I started to proceed to tell her once again that I needed a room. The attendant then asked "is this your wife, or do you need 'special accomodations' ?" She siad she was only joking, but after all that jazz, and the day being long, I didn't much care for jokes at that point. She then handed me the key card and we finally were going to our room. By this time it was already midnight, so we crashed. At 7 am that morning roomservice came to our room and just opened the door, no knock, no nothing. I just was waken to a loud thump as the latch hit the door. (luckily I latched it before hitting the lights!) Not to mention the loud "ROOMSERVICE!" we heard, so I said comeback later. In return the lady, who was very persistent, slammed the door against the receiver again and said "ROOMSERVICE, TIME TO WAKE UP!" So I shouted "It's only 7 am!" and she replied "Well, EXCUSE me!" and slammed the door two more times before slamming it shut. Obviously my wife and I were awake, so we got up and ready to check-out. As we walked outside, we seen roomservice waiting outside our door, we said excuse us and tried to get by, but they had the gaul to say "uhh, no, u were rude, now apologize!" My wife was ready to go ballistic! But as tired as I was, I needed to remove myself from them, so I went arround them by pushing the cart away. I asked my wife to go to the car while I checked-out. I went in and asked for the manager/owner and when he arrived I told him of the events and said "I do not know what country you come from but I have never been anywhere that allows 'roomservice' to slam the door open without at least knocking first, I WILL NOT BE BACK TO ANY MOTEL 6, EVER!" He then apted to apologize and said "would you like to stay another night for free." UHHHH, NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
