Beautiful Resort
By ,
My wife and I loved this resort. The rooms were large, clean and all faced the Pacific. Every day we could see whales from our terrace. The swimming pools-four of them- were magnificant and two of the three restaurants on the premises were excellent. Service very good and friendly but the spa was disappointing. Would definitely return.

Doesn't get much better
By ,
Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is the perfect getaway for those who seek the serenity of a beach vacation. No loud music, no beach hawkers seeking your last dollar for trinkets, none of the general chaos of Cabo San Lucas exist at Sunset Beach. Set on the Pacific side of the Baja, it is the ideal spot for real relaxation and natural beauty. The friendly resort staff go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant. Tennis courts, numerous pools and restaurants on site make it possible to never leave the place. Maintenance is ongoing to keep the units sparkling and the grounds vibrant. Pricey, but worth every penny. You can still get to Cabo with the hourly free shuttles to sister resort, Pueblo Bonito Rose, and from there do the Cabo village and all the accompanying tourist trappings. But it is hard to leave the grounds - it's all there with so much more to make your vacation renewing and memorable.

Wonderful place
By ,
Really enjoyed being on the Pacific side. Swimming is prohibited on the beach which means it doesn't have a million people laying on top of one another fighting for lounge chair space. Enjoyed walking and just sitting watching incredible views....one day had to decide between surf, whales and the rainbow. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable...view was outstanding. Staff is great and 99% speak English. Don't be afraid to try and learn a little Spanish while you are down there. Just ask any of the staff "como se dese _____". It means how do you say____? Food was excellent in the Bistro and La Nao, did not try Frida's. Sky pool has an amazing view. Go into the top part and just peek over the edge of the infinity pool and all you will see is ocean. The cart service isn't has bad as some reviews state. We never had to wait more than a couple of minutes....most times were no wait at all. If you go into town for diner, Mariscos Matzalan is great. Romeo and Julietta is just average. You will need a car to get into town...or take taxi ($12 one way). Lastly, take the ATV tour.....fabulous time

Best Kept Secret
By ,
We were guests of relatives and we felt the overall experience was good! Lobby impressive as you enter, friendliness of staff was excellent, very clean...both grounds and rooms. What we disliked! Carts were a nuisance (although I give the guy credit for an ingenious idea of building a resort on a hill)and food was average, too aggressive with the Timeshare sales. Best kept secret! Armando d'Anna, the singer in the off-lobby Martini Bar has an outstnding voice. A local guy with a great future if given a little help. San Cabos best kept secret!! If you go...buy his CD!!

Been there done that
By ,
Last year I had the pleasure of staying at this amazing resort. This place had a great view and super accommodations. When I make back I will stay there again fore sure. The employees are outstanding, they get to know you (by first name basis) and they are super friendly and always there if you need anything. In fact my sister who was along as well kept telling me that she was going to put a couple of concierges in her suite case and bring them back with her. They were outstanding. The food was not what I anticipated but was still good none the less.

terrible
By ,
Expedia totally misrepresented this place. They booked a two rooms accidentally and neither the hotel nor Expedia would take the blame. We got hit with two charges and only stayed in one room. In addition, both of my kids got sick from the food, the rooms were filthy, there were bugs in the beds and bathroom, and the sheets and pillows smelled like dirty feet. It is a cheesy place where they are constantly trying to sell you a timeshare, and if you are used to five star places - stay away.

Poor Management
By ,
We (wife & son) stayed there for 5 nights and starting the third morning they started a very loud lawnmower right outside of our room at 7:30AM so I went out there and asked them to stop it which they did but the next morning again the same thing, then finally on our last day AGAIN this time at 7:00 AM, so I went out in the balcony and as usual asked them to stop and they did but check this out --- the front desk called the room at 7:30 AM (just as I was about to go back to sleep) saying “sorry sir we are going to continue cutting the grass, because we can’t do it any other time”. So you tell me, which so called 5 star hotel have you stayed in were they call you at 7:30 AM saying sorry but we are going to continue bothering you with our noisy lawnmower operation! – NEVER IN FOUR SEASONS OR ANY REAL 5 STAR RESORTS - So I called and asked for the hotel manager and they connected me to this guy who said “sorry sir I will tell them not to do it again tomorrow”. Fortunately, that was our last day. During our stay the main pool was open only the first day and closed the rest of the time and every time we asked any staff member when they would reopen it they would say “tomorrow sir” and that was four days in a row. NEVER IN A REAL 5 STAR RESORT Their best restaurant La Frida was closed and when we asked why, they said because the chef is on vacation. YOU THINK FRENCH LAUNDRY WILL CLOSE BECAUSE THOMAS KELLER IS ON VACTION? Fourth day we went to have breakfast down at the restaurant by the main pool and asked to sit outside, they seated us and our waiter showed up and took our order. He acted as if he understood English but the guy understood some words and didn’t speak much English. I found out the hard way. They had on the menu basket of Mexican bread as well as basket of pastries. So I ordered the Mexican bread – he came back with a basket containing one chocolate donut, one cheese danish and one cinnamon roll! So I reminded him that I ordered Mexican bread and he said “ yes sir this Mexcian” so I said I would like bread not pastry and these are pastries and he gave me a look and took the basket and came back with the cheese danish and two dinner rolls. I gave up and tried to enjoy whatever. Half away through the breakfast a big rat crawled up the side of the next table and scared the young couple and she jumped up the rat got scared and went in the small flower patches they had on top of the short wall around the area we were sitting. So our neighbors asked to be moved to another table and then our waiter got one of the hard and sturdy menus and started smashing the bushes hoping to get the rat. God help the person who was handed that menu next. To top it all 5 days after we left Cabo I get a $202 charge on my credit card from the resort and this is after I walked to the counter and checked out and pay them all the charges on my room and since we didn’t have a mini bar I am certain this is an error on their part, so I called and after transferring to four different person, the last one told me they don’t show such a charge and that they are going to look into it and call me back in a couple of days. The only nice thing I can say about the resort is the nice spacious rooms and generally speaking the architecture. Also, if you are an eco friendly person you wouldn’t appreciate the exhaust fume from their use of loud golf carts to take you up and down the property

WOW
By ,
The service outstanding both in your room and throughout the resort. Truly is paradise. Our room was always spotless even in the corners and under couches and chairs. The view WOW. Palm trees, infinite swimming pool, jazzui, whales, dolphins, fishing boats, best sunrise and sunset in the world. Check in very quick, the staff always fast and courteous and didn't always have their hand out for a tip. Hats off the the management. Dont want a time share briefing just tell them and they wont ask again. The food out of this world. Did I mention the romantic sunset. I have been there 4 times already and plan on going every year. Did I mention the fantastic sunset.

And I hear there is more to come
Everyone we encountered here was so pleasant. Starting with the golf cart drivers they are so helpful and prompt. It reminded me of being at Disneyland's Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The only way to get to the lobby and the upper and lower pools is by taking the golf carts which run 24 hours a day. If you choose not to you will be doing alot of walking uphill and up many stairs..which was a good thing for us, since all we did was eat and drink. I loved that they had 5 pools and most of them if not all had bars. It is a peaceful resort starting with the fragrance of the hotel when you first walk in... I thought I was walking into a spa! The scent was so soothing throughout the hotel. In front of the hotel where the taxis and shuttles pick people up, they have these huge rocking chairs to just sit in and rock while you wait for a ride or just to sit there. We mostly ate at the Bistro which has nightly entertainment starting at 6pm - food was good and so was the service. We had Sunday Brunch at La Nao and that was just as good with a view of the pool and ocean. There were many couples and families with young children. With all the pools to choose from one didnt have to worry about one pool getting too crowded or noisy. Happy Hour only lasts for that...one hour. You can pool hop however being that every pool has happy hour at a different time..and we noticed that many people did that. We were very satisfied with our stay at Sunset Beach ......the shuttle that takes you to their sister hotel (Pueblo Bonito Rose) is free and comes every hour...but be ready to do some walking if you want to go into town.. the walk is about 1 mile which is not so bad but the heat is what gets to you and may not be a good idea for small children or older people. You can also swim at the rose unlike sunset beach they only have one huge pool...both hotels are great for families. Oh I almost forgot... they are in the middle of building more villas and their own shopping area for Sunset Beach with a cineplex... this is suppose to be completed by early next year... there will be more restaurants and shopping for those who do not wish to go into town as often... I will be returning to this hotel! Very nice staff.
