Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Deluxe All-Inclusive, Cabo San Lucas

Stayed there in January 2009, didn't really care for it. no night life alot of older people. no beaches.

We just got back from staying at Pueblo Bonito Sunset. The resort is magnificent cannot say enough about it. The service was outstanding. We had maid service twice daily. The room was unbelievable with 180 degree view. Location was out of the way but that did not matter because they offer a free shuttle to town or you can take a taxi for $12. The restaurants r excellent. Pools incredible. Do not miss the opportunity to say at this 5 star resort you will not regret it. My only regret is that I am typing this in NJ not Cabo. Oh, you can also use the facilities at their sister hotel the Rose which does not compare to the Sunset but still the same 5 star service. Please do not fear the swine flu no sign of anyone being ill just take your normal precautions. The only disappointment is I did not use any of their spa facilites due to the fact that the prices where far too expensive, i.e., manicure $52 USD. Also if you are not owner their you have a daily of $15 USD to use the gym which I felt was not fair since we were spending a lot of money at the resort for food, drinks, etc. Also, you can not swim at the beach there due to the fact that the ocean is extremely rough. You can walk, sit, play volley & soccer ball and get served food or beverages there.

After hearing about Cobo for 10 years, I exchanged my Mazatlan week for Cobo. Sunset Beach is one of their three hotels on the peninsula which offers the swim-up bars, fabulous sky-top pools, spectacular views from every room and privacy when you want it. I've stayed at other resorts that offer nice features but they were crowded and noisey compared to Sunset. I took the free shuttle down town nearly every day, enjoyed great meals and shopping then returned on the same shuttle to a clean, comfortable and QUIET suite. They have their own desalination plant to provide ample clean water and it makes the showers and swimming wonderful. There's hardly any chlorine in any of the 3 pools ( yes, you can even open your eyes under water and not have them sting at all ) which all were delightfully clean. Towels provided at every pool. Cobo San Luca itself was pretty toned down due to the flu scare but we didn't experience any issues health-wise. This Pueblo Bonito resort offers very nice vacations with many high end features for those NOT on a budget or just great rooms with a blue Pacific ocean stretching endlessly off your balcony. We saw whales jumping out of the surf one morning to everyones amazement. Yes.. I'd go back in heartbeat to enjoy some other adventures and I hope to return to take a PADI certification offered downtown. I only got to snorkel once and would love to get more of that. I caution anyone who is uncomfortable walking any distance because the suites are built up the side of the cliff. There are mini-Jeeps to provide you with a ride 24 / 7 which we used often but if you have your choice, pick a unit in the middle of the complex... Still have the wonderful views but the hiking is much less for the restaurants / bars / ATM's or pools which are centrally located. Lastly, to get a flavor for the culture, I lost my wallet in a taxi we took down town and the driver returned it to the hotel within 40 minutes... Whew !!! I was so relieved that I didn't have to cancel all my credit cards and get new license/ health cards/ SSAN etc etc. Honesty is not gone everywhere.. The concierge said people lose expensive cameras and many items like I did and they nearly always get them back. THat says a lot I think !!!

The resort, the staff-all perfect. We had a master suite, had a view of the sunrise and the sunset. The room was very clean, the grounds were gorgeous, the food delicious, and the staff very pleasant. I can't think of one negative thing to say about the resort. The shuttle to the sister resort was convenient, however the walk into town was a bit difficult with the construction. Our second trip into town we opted for a taxi, and was well worth the $10. I can't wait to go back!

I honeymooned here and it was heaven. The place is so well kept, quiet, gorgeous and beautiful. I highly recommend going here. There was nothing we didn't love!!! I cannot WAIT to go back. I am not one to write reviews but this place has my highest praise!

We bought a Time Share at Sunset in 2003. Other than the distance to town, it is great! HOWEVER - If we would have known then what we know now, we would NEVER have bought! It is a nightmare trying to use what you have paid good money for and no matter what,for one reason or another, expect to pay some kind of extra charge. We have talked with owners at other resorts and they do not have any of these issues.
