Wonderful place to stay for the races!!
My husband and I came to Concord for the first race at the new Z-Max Dragway and this was one of the closest places we could find to stay. You COULD walk to the dragstrip IF you are in really good shape, but it is a bit of a hike with a cooler (a little over a mile, I think). We drove, and, despite the bumper to bumper chaos, we made it to a parking place in no time at all. The staff at this Sleep Inn are super friendly and helpful to out of town guests! The rooms are neat and clean and don't have that "old smoke" smell. The housekeepers don't mind giving you extra towels and toiletries if you ask. The pool is nice and gets afternoon sun and they have a (little) exercise room that has a flat panel TV for you to watch while you work out. Their continental breakfast was decent if you aren't watching your carbs. No protein besides hard-boiled eggs and, besides those, you had cereal, bagels, and a waffle maker. But there are SEVERAL places to eat that are within walking distance if you don't like what they have. This place books early on race weekends so book as soon as you can. If you AREN'T going to the races, stay away from this place on a weekend of an event because the traffic is crazy!
