What a disappointment

Favorable things first: 1. a microwave
2. a refrigerator. Both in good shape and useful. 3. an inroom coffee maker with decent coffee.
I had tried unsuccessfully to find a fairly reasonably-priced, and also pleasant hotel in or near Cooperstown to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. The price seemed fine, but I mixed up Red Carpet with Red Roof Inn which has some decent hotels, and booked the hotel thru the internet. There was a 24-hour cancellation policy, so when we pulled up to this tired-looking and uninviting motel at 7:00 PM, I didn't want to forfeit one night's lodging fee, so we stayed. But what a disappointment! The tub was stained making it look dirty and the sink had just a lick and promise cleanliness, the rug needed a really good vacuuming, and the place was just sad looking. Having just come from a very nice Hampton Inn made the place seem even more dreary. Oh well, lesson learned.
