Grande Shores Ocean Resorts Condominiums, Myrtle Beach

If you are looking for a place with good accomodations, clean rooms and a friendly staff, grand shores is not your place. I have seen plenty of reviews giving this place four or more stars. Perhaps these folks have lower standards or maybe they were given better rooms for one reason or another. The room I had smelled moldy, the light over the dining room table was full of bugs and dirt but the worst part of all was the rude night staff members.

This was our first visit, the staff was extremely accomodating, the rooms were very adequate, We really enjoyed our visit and hope to stay there again this fall. NICE PLACE away from the hustle and bustle. We really liked it.

We called these people in advance and asked about their Internet connection, as we've learned over the years that MB hotels are notorious for advertising that they have the Internet, but it doesn't work. They assured us that, absolutely, they had the Internet and never had a problem. So we stayed there. We brought three computers. All three were able to connect, but none stayed connected for more than a few minutes. The connection was constantly in and out, in and out, for our entire stay. When we contacted the management, we got the typical line: "No one else has complained," which of course is a total lie, since there's no way that the problem lies with the computer when you bring three and all of them have the same problem. It is clearly false advertising to claim you have a product that doesn't work in the normal way that one would expect. We were looking for a new place with a reliable Internet since we have a business that depends on it. Grande Shores is NOT IT. The rest of the hotel really is very mediocre, as well. I don't intend to stay here again, and I recommend that folks looking for a hotel look elsewhere.

My wife and I have stayed 4 years in a row, and we are scheduled to be there again in August of 06. I have been impressed with the value and view. The location is fantastic. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip, but it is close enough to walk. Friendly staff all about, and the pools and hot tubs are awesome. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The only complaint I would have is the rooms could use a little updating, IE: New paint, newer TV's, and some new carpet would be great.

To start with the rooms are not as nice as the pictures show. Very old and outdated and not kid friendly either because some of the outlets were exposed. The parking garage is very cramped and only desireable for compact cars. We drove a 2010 Ford F-150 and we couldnt park in the deck unless we took up two spaces. Only one way in and one way out.

We have been here every year for the last 4 years. We wanted and ocean front effiency apartment but when we called to make reservations all were taken, so we had gotten a ocean view room for the first night. The reservationist was able to get us an ocean view smoking the second day and we were very satisfied. We stayed for 5 days and was very satisfied. If I had to make any changes at the Grand Shores it would be that they clean there carpeting more often. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My husband is a handcap and would really like to see more handicap facilities there. We loved being able to drive up to the floor that we was staying in. Overall we will be back and would recommend it to friends and family. The price and location is perfect.

They need to keep swimmers out of the lazy river, that is what the swiming pool is for, that was the only thing I disliked, the rest of it was excellent!

The staff was ok. The room was very outdated. It had a full size refridgerator and a microwave on a old stand right in the same room as the beds. weird The view was good of the ocean. The garage was in the middle of the building with the room on the outside for the view. That makes sence. I was kind of creep out and looked into changing hotels but then we were busy all of the time and not in our room. The price of the room is what you got. Having the pool on the 7th floor was nice because you could see the ocean. The restruant was OLD too. We did not eat there. This place needs an overhaul.

We stayed at a unit that was refered to us by a past guest. These folks highly recomended unit 824 because someone they know, knows the owner. The location was great. pools outstanding and the price was right.
