worst vacation ever!

From the lack of service and couteousness when we checked in to the moment we left--problems after problems!!!!
We paid a premium for a 3bdrm oceanfront condo and I at least expected the appliances in the kitchen to work. Not one worked properly. The exhaust from the dryer had not been cleaned in years--didn't dry clothes--and had me worrying about fire hazards in other condos. The fridge did not cool. The freezer did not freeze. Exhaust fans in the bathrooms didn't work. The dishwasher rack was broken and fell onto the floor breaking glass on the kitchen floor. The exhaust and light over the stove did not work so cooking was a challenge. The kitchen was supposed to be equipped for a party of 8 and there were 5 plates, 4 forks, etc--ill-equipped!
The hot tub was over-flowing with brown disgusting water upon our arrival making us leary of the cleanliness of other hot tubs. The toilets ran continuously and needed new flappers. There were chards of glass on the pool deck which my daughter cut her foot on.
Worst of all, the staff inadvertently took my daughter's stuffed animal she has had since birth and can't sleep without and did little to find it. Constant miscommunication among the staff and short staffing issues left many of the issues unaddressed or only addressed after persistence.
For three consecutive nights, fireworks started on the beach at 1030pm and rarely ended before 1am. For a hotel that markets itself as family-friendly, this seemed more like a frat house. The front desk said a security officer would handle it. Forty minutes later a security officer made his way to the beach.
That being said, Myrtle beach is a beautiful area with warm swimmable water, sunshine with a gentle breeze and activities for people of all ages and interests. Unfortunately, I spent most of the week with maintenance personel and consoling my distraught daughter.
