Hilton Ras Al Khaimah, Mexico City

This hotel is situated at the end of a creek with building site on three sides. There is a huge development immediately adjacent to the hotel. The shuttle bus to Dubai now takes three hours, So unless you wish to park in the desert avoid this location. They sell this hotel only because it has access to the Beach resort and Spa. A far better bet is the Hilton resort and Spa which has splendid facilities. Unfortunately there are two buildings being erected adjacent to the beach club. Still for £27 per night the Ras Al Khaimah City Hotel will suit some.

Ras al Khaimah is about 1hr+ away from dubai but dont be dismayed, this place has a charm of it's own. The place was spotless in our case and the food was plentiful - variety of meats, live cooking and plenty of fresh veg and salads. The puddings were also fresh and not the plastic cakes we have had in some 5* hotels in the past. The local malls were no where as good as Dubai but we didnt expect it to be, although a couple of places in the Manar Mall were quite cheap for decent gold. We ate at the Hoof and Fin a couple of times and I would say that it is comparable to some of the nicer restaurants in London. The Beach club was lovely, Jinky was really on the ball in the beach club and Mariebeth in the Beach Club restaurant - where the food was lovely again - Ceasar Salad to die for. Bernard was in the main restaurant who was excellent - in fact all staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. We went 'All Inclusive' and what a bargain. Dubai Malls were good and the Gold souk an experience! Watch out for the spice souk as a little can add up quickly!!! We has afternoon tea at the Burj al Arab which again is an experience worth having, also the Wadi Water park was good fun. Anyway, enjoy and be prepared to haggle with a smile - it will definitely get you the best prices.

I loved this place because the breakfast was dilicious I couldn't stop eating it. The service was the best and the cleanliness was excellent. The value was precious, and the location was beautiful. It was near to shops and restaurants and has a beautiful beach club. It also not that expensive either. I wish I was there for a longer time.

away if you want to visit the UAE. Ras Al Khaimah is about 150km away from Dubai. Hilton Ras Al Khaimah is usually offered in European Travel Agencies in a cheap package to visit "Dubai" and often guests are very dissappointed to be so far away from Dubai, the city they actually want to see. Ras Al Khaimah is "country side" traditional where cows sheep and goats are still walking on the streets, the cars are old an shabby, a place where the old traditions of the country are still visible. If you want to go anywhere from Ras Al Khaimah you need a rental car to get around. But be aware of the traffic in the emirates Ajman and Sharjah and also Dubai is special with its (rude) road rules. If you get lost in any of the industrial areas of sharjah you will spend hours standing still on the road in traffic jams.
