We'll be back !
By Lake Dweller, 5/2/11
We had a great time at the resort. My wife got a Swedish Massage and loved it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. T.J. Muskie's was a blast on Saturday with good drinks, great service and good pickin' from the band. VERY ENJOYABLE WEEKEND.

Awful Experience
By Jen Comeau, 11/28/10
As avid travelers, we are used to typical problems related to hotel stays. Unfortunately nothing was typical at this resort. We expected to receive simple things such as the services and amenities they had listed online or simple things such as a complimentary coffee or a newspaper or breakfast muffin, or a map of the confusing maze-like facility, but we did not receive any of this. We still would have been content, but we were apalled when we were treated so rudely by the staff, as if we are a complete nuisance to grace their facility. We also overheard other off-hand remarks to other "guests". If we had other options, we would have left early. We saved & planned a relaxing memorable holiday mini-vacation which ended in a year to forget by their disgusting attitudes.

Orientations Checked at Stonewall ;-)
By JW, 8/17/10
If you haven't experienced West Virginia's beautiful mountain scenery, try some OTHER resort...you'll get a view here, but expensive substandard service, and limited choices for dining. If you are part of a heterosexual couple curious to understand what the phrase "Lesbian Supremacy" means, you only need to visit the resort briefly before you will discover how curt, if not openly defiant, the staff of this "pink collar ghetto" can be. Whatever you do, don't complain about a butch female to her butch-er supervisor! (I visited in mid-August 2010, and left early...) At least I have the satisfaction of knowing that I treat my own customers--of whatever ethnic background, gender or orientation--as honored guests at my business. Not the case at "Stonewall"...!

Spam generator
By Stanh P, 5/20/10
Stonewall Resort is now "resorting" to spam to promote their "nothing-to-do-when-there" facility. Spam arrived with numerous malicious tracking "bugs" (if I wanted to tell them I received their spam, wouldn't I "confirm receipt" voluntarily?) and was actually transmitted by "exacttarget.com". Mine was a forced virtual visit. Pure sleeze.

Beautiful Spot nothing to do
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/09
We have been to Stonewall three other times in the last 7 years but the only changes were that the service has gotten terrible and the staff with few exceptions could care less. The other thing that caught out attention is how dirty the carpets in the hallways and elevators looked. It is still a great valve for cost but if you don't play golf or have your own boat there is nothing to do and don't think for one minute you can go in town for something to do beacuse it closes at 7 pm. Couple that with the State of W Va setting up a kill of the deer herds last year and this and one of the other reasons to go there is now gone. Who wants to look at the beautiful deer and enjoy them only to know that some red neck will be blowing their head off sometime in the fall. This could be one of the greatest gateaways on the east coast of the US if some more thought was put into how to make it that way.

Needs to focus on service
By Paul White, 10/24/08
It is nice looking and the scenery is beautiful but he staff needs to focus on the customers. Waitstaff were not attentive at times and the bellhops seemed clueless and grumpy. Stilwaters the restaurant was OK as far as price for their dinner buffet ($23) but the food was glorified cafe food. Lightburns was better!

convenience and friendly staff! Food was great too! We are local and it is a fast and easy get away. Plus we feel like we are far away.

Enjoyed every minute of our stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/06
I have been to the resort on three occasions. We enjoyed the food, fun, pool and atmosphere. The picturesque views were breathtaking. We plan to return again in September of 07. The front desk staff was very efficient and met all of our needs. I have recommended this resort to many of my friends.

By joyce, 7/4/06
We stayed here 7/1/06 thru 7/3/06.Horrible service!3 people at the front desk doing nothing.Still waited 10 minutes to check in.Brought in our luggage cuz the bell boy ignored us.Ordered room service. They did not bring part of our meal. When it was brought to their attention we were told us they would take it off our bill. They did not.The only competent people they have there work in the bar.

I love the peacefulness of the location. The beauty of the hills, the friendliness of the staff. Overall, a great place to visit.
