Huzzah! To AmericInn
My fiance and I chose the AmericInn in Flint for our weekend get away to the Ren Fest and a visit to Frankenmuth. The jacuzzi suite room we had was very clean and spacious. The king sized bed provided a solid night's sleep, and the room even had a nice little table for two in it which served wonderfully for romantic dinners and evening board/card games. I've stayed in 5 star hotels in downtown Chicago that charged double the rates of AmericInn and had rooms 1/4 the size and were no where near as quiet as this room!
The staff was courteous and friendly. They were more than willing to assist when I asked for directions to different attractions in the area. They even went so far as to print me up copies of the directions for Yahoo Maps!
The breakfast was surprisingly wonderful. Not only did they offer the standard Continental breakfast food-fare but they also had a make your own waffle bar, scrambled eggs, and biscuits & gravy. Every type of morning appetite was appeased there.
The pool was crystal clear and kept at a perfect temperature. We had a jacuzzi suite. The jacuzzi tub was the perfect in room thing to have after a long day of walking around either the Ren Fest, Frankenmuth, or Birch Run.
My only complaint would be the TV. The channel guide in room no where near matched what channels were actually coming up on the TV. Then again, we weren't paying money to sit in a hotel and watch TV anyway, so that didn't bother me too much.
