Zephyr Mountain Lodge, Winter Park

Our 4 night stay was in a great location but with the worst customer service for a resort. When my wife told the desk clerk Mark she had a headache and we needed to resolve the bathroom door issue (would not close due to building shifting (huge crack above door frame)), his response was, "What a shame." We will be staying at the Fraser Crossing and Founders Pointe locations that are newer and still in the village. You will not get what you pay for with Zephyr.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom & went skiing for 5 days. The King size bed was so comfortable!We loved the location just picked up our skis from the ski locker & went out the door & skied down to the lift. We went back to the condo everyday & made lunch, saved a lot of money. We sometimes took the bus into town to eat dinner & some nights we had our dinner from the crockpot in the condo. The hot tubs were very relaxing after a long day of skiing. Everyone was very friendy. We rented our skis right at the base & took a 1/2 day ski lesson which was very helpful.

The room we had was huge. We had 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, a Living Room, and a Kitchen. This was great for the little ones at night. They had plenty of room to run around and play without feeling cramped. One of the bad things is there wasnt many places to eat nearby, so we had to drive about 10 miles to get some snacks/groceries. We went to a couple of places to eat at the resort. Big mistake, both places were horrible. The food was cold and tasted like it had been made a week ago. Again, as mentioned before, it gets a bit noisy early in the morning. So if you like to sleep late you would be better off finding a place in town. In summary, large room, no service, located right on the resort, but with no places to eat.

Nice room at a good price. The room was a pretty good size. Cannot beat the location. It was truly a ski in ski out lodge.

Be the envy of everyone on the chairlift when you soak in the hot tub underneath as they weather the blistering cold. It is however right next to the grooming and snowmachine road which can be bothersome at night. Also, the only night life is in the town a couple of sometimes icy miles away.

This is not a hotel it is really just a bunch of independent condos. There is really no type of services or amenities within the resort. There was no one to help with luggage as I loaded my bags and three kids to our room only to find it had a broken door and then I needed to head back to the main desk to get another room. When I asked for help I was told by the hotel desk that she was "the only one here" and was unable to help me. After reaching our room, we found it stuffy and opening windows barely helped despite the fact that it was only in the 60's outside. The blanket for the hideabed was dirty with hair and stains. When I asked the hotel clerk about vending machines in the hotel or local places to eat, I was told he just started and didn't know much. Upon checking out, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the staff and was told that there was quite a bit of turn over in the staff and he wasn't surprised. This hotel was extremely over priced compared to local resorts and they provided nothing but location for the money. This management is just buying time until the entire place is condos and then they don't have to worry about customer service. Oh and by the way, when they say there is a restaurant on the location, please note that it is about 5 buildings down and closes at 6pm. The poor customer service, stuffy rooms, high price and lack of amenities will keep me away despite its location.
