Hampton Inn Stes W Ashley, Charleston

This would be a fantastic hotel, if it were closer to something. Anything. 45 mins-1 hour to get to Folly Beach or Kiawah Island. 30 mins to downtown. There are traffic lights every 100 yards, and traffic is heavy during the week. There's lots of activity and businesses, but most of it seemed to be car lots, with few if any restaurants available. The hotel itself was great. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, nice decor, good pool. Rooms are roomy; our had separate rooms with a door in between, with really nice beds. Had no trouble at all sleeping here: quiet and comfy. Just wish it was closer to SOMETHING ;)

Staff was very helpful and had great attitudes. Establishment was very clean, amongst the cleanest hotels I have been in. Rooms were spacious, with very powerful a/c unit. (When I visited on 7/4/08, it was almost 95 outside). Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
