An Over priced wanna be Holiday inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/09
The beds are like sleeping on plywood with sheets. They charge you extra for internet service. No refrigerator or microwave in the room and Mirrors all over the place. If my employer wasn't paying for it I would rather sleep in my car in the parking lot.

Pretty Good - With Some Issues
By Valerie, 06/09/09
liked that the photos I saw online were exactly what I saw when we got there. The room was very nice and clean. As soon as I got there I received a courtesy call almost as soon as I walked into the room asking if everything was okay. I said yes because I hadn't really looked around but later discovered the bed was overly firm for my taste although my roommate didn't mind at all. The staff didn't seem to have a solution except to send me to another room which had the exact same mattress, go figure. I don't know if they thought I was too dumb to figure that out, that kind of irritated me. I asked for and received a blanket to counteract the firmness which honestly didn't help much but at least the staff did try, they weren't the owners. The lock on the bathroom door was broken but the maintenance man came and repaired it immediately and he was very nice and friendly. The continental breakfast was pretty good, a nice spread too and all you can eat. Also when you went in for the breakfast, the wait staff asked you to show your hotel key which I also found slightly annoying like you are sneaking in to eat from outside and shouldn't be there. They did this each time. The lobby is so small that it would be very difficult to do that anyway. At one point there was a weird noise all over the hotel and when I called down to ask about it I received a snippy response from one of the male staff. He basically said we have received complaints about it, we don't know what it is and basically did not say whether anything would be done or not. He behaved as if I was irritating him by calling and acted like why don't you hang up already, rude. He said nothing further so I hung up. I called back a few minutes later, this time spoke to a female staff who said they don't have maintenance staff after hours and that nothing could be done and offered to move me to another room (sigh). I checked out the other room, same sound in both rooms offered, again no solution so being tired I simply went to sleep. The shuttle was one of the best features of the hotel. Always available to take me to the train station although never the same driver. They also came quickly when I called from the train station to be picked up. I must say other than that one male staff all the other staff was very friendly and helpful male and female and on the last day the rude staff person did ask about the sound and if I had had any more problems so I will chalk that up to him having a bad day or days because he did act irritated and inpatient on one other occassion. The hotel offered free ice, ice buckets and coffee machines w/coffee. It would have been nice if they offered tea as well since I am not a coffee drinker. The tv had cable but no menu to show you what was on tv. That was kind of annoying too because you had to flip the channels and watch for a minute to determine what was on. I wanted to buy something from the gift shop but it closed by seven so no luck. I never visited the gym area or ballroom areas so no opinion on those. I paid for internet service and it was $10.00 for 10 hours of service which was I thought reasonable. I had no problem signing on and neither did my roommate, it was very convenient and easy to use and there was a timer on my computer telling me how much time I had left which was nice. The maids were very discreet, never saw them...I had plenty of towels, soap, etc. The room was nicely decorated, provided iron and ironing board and this is for the basic room. There was a mini mall within walking distance, I mean almost literally outside the hotel where you could get Baskin Robbins, Quiznos, Wendy's etc. There is a bus stop not too far away (10 minute walk) that takes you to New York (drops you off at the Port Authority) round trip for $5.00. I would recommend

courteous,helpful, friendly service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/08
My husband and I just stayed at this hotel over the 4th of July weed-end 2008. The room was clean with plenty of towels, the help was very friendly, and helpful, and the full american hot breakfast was excellent and the parking was free. The location isn't the best as it is located between well travelled roads, but to my husband and I who live in a bayfront condo, the sound of traffic sounded just like the waves breaking on the beach. We used their suttle service to go to a restaurant and to go shopping and both times we were very pleased with the service. The suttle takes you to the train station which is just one stop away from Penn Station in Mid Manhattan, talk about convenience! I would definetely, use this hotel again when in the NY or NJ area.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/08
We liked everything!Shuttle service was a great way to get to the train station. Breakfast was included in the price and it was more than cereal. Rooms were clean and smelled fresh. Staff was very helpful in answering questions. We found the people and staff to be very helpful. Very safe and comfortable place to stay.

Very reasonable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/07
Although we had to deal with motel shuttle and NJ Transit train to NYC, that minor inconvenience was well worth the price savings to stay off Manhattan. We could leave on shuttle at 10am, be at the train station in 15 minutes or less, and be at Penn Station by 10:30am via NJ Transit. However, ending the shuttle pickup times at 10pm really limits the ability to enjoy the nightlife of NYC, but taxis are available at the Secaucus train station to this hotel for about $11.00. Although it was our first time to use the NJ trains, it was really easy since Penn Station was the next stop out of Secaucus Junction. A one way ticket for $3.25 and ten minutes and you are in mid-town at Penn Station and able to catch just about every subway line on the island. It would be great if the Metro-Card would join up with NJ Transit to keep all fares and access to a single card. The rooms were clean and good sized for me, wife, and 2 kids. They need to put a mini-fridge in the rooms. Free breakfast was decent. A close walk to a couple of restaurants, and shuttle would take you anywhere within Secaucus city limits. Large parking lot - no charge, and seemed to have reasonable security. If you are willing to deal with the minor hassle of the transportation to save $200+ per night for a room comparable to a NYC room, then this is a good place for you to stay. I have now done it both ways and would never again consider paying the outrageous prices for a Manhattan closet sized, nasty rooms, along with $30/night fees for parking, etc. I will definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to NYC area (or at least another hotel in this vicinity). P.S. Only one gripe about this place - no free wireless internet - not to mention even when I tried to pay the overpriced $9.95 for one night, the signal strength was so poor I couldn't even complete the online transaction. Even less expensive hotels give you wireless internet.

I enjoy the stay because ,the cleaness and bedrm. was off from the living rm. and kitchen. also close to new york
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/07
there not to much you can say.but, if you are booking on line you have to pay in full, which I think that you should pay when you arrive or pay for one night if you defaults.

Won't go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/07
We were there in April and I have to say that the price is the best thing about this hotel. The breakfast was also very good. Don't try to take any food back to your room though. I wanted to finish my danish and coffee back in my room and the manager of the restaurant embarassed me by telling me that, "If everyone took food back to their room we wouldn't need to be here". The other problem was the beds. I've never slept on such a hard mattress. We spent 5 days and one night I even tried the floor. I asked if they had any softer pillows and they looked at me as if I had asked for something very unusual. The shuttle service was also poor. They make it sound like shuttle service is always available but when you're waiting at the bus stop at night you hear, "Oh the shuttle went to the airport and won't be back for 45 minutes". We walked back one night but unless you know where you are going it wasn't easy to find your way to the hotel. We asked local people for directions. You have to walk over a highway overpass that looked like it isn't used often because there is so much debris around it. I'd say it's a trade-off for the great price and breakfast.

Great, Clean, Friendly, wonderful!
By Norman, 05/23/07
There is only one thing that we can say that we disliked and that is, now don't laugh, the paper in the bathroom was like using sandpaper. Had I known this I would have brought our own with us, but this is the worse thing I can say. This hotel was clean, friendly, hospitable, GREAT BREAKFAST, great location, GREAT PRICES. I can't think of any negative other than what I have already mentioned. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable. I recommend this to all travelers. Looking forward to coming back on our next trip up north.
