Wouldn't ever stay there again...
We made our reservations ahead of time online, for what we thought was our set price... but upon arrival the hotel tried to over-charge my credit card an additional $150 claiming it as "standard procedure for incidentals". There was no mention of this on their website, nor in the confirmation I received from them prior to our arrival. As someone who does tons of research to try & find the best deals, I was not pleased with being slapped with an additional $150 in fees. Because I was so outraged (and on the verge of causing a scene--we were already paying over $100 a night in the first place!), the manager waived our fee, but turned off local calling & pay-per-view movies for our room... like those things cost $50 per day anyway! We didn't even miss those two "extras".
The room itself was a very nice, well decorated suite, and the bed really was amazing... but the "good" part stops there. The pool was murky, it's $14.95 per person for breakfast, and $9.95 per day just to use the internet. There is neither shopping nor dining within walking distance of the hotel. The only thing there IS the hotel. Next time we decide to spend a few days vacationing in Charlotte we'll stay at a more economical family-friendly hotel in a better location, without the additional hidden fees!
