The Claim Jumper, Crested Butte

Jerry's tag line is "Sleep with me and I will cook you breakfast"! Coming from someone who travels 200+ days a year, this may very well be the coolest place I have stayed all year. I stayed in the "Ethyl" room, detailed in vintage gas station memorabilia. I did not see all the rooms but I did see another that was themed in a Nautical / Ship era, well done. You could spend your entire time just looking at all the cool stuff hanging around this property. Very clean and lots of amenities without being pretentious. Breakfast was outstanding. Of course all homemade. Crepe’s with Fresh local fruit. Great coffee and good conversation. Jerry typically invites a local to join for Breakfast. Sort of his way of adding a bit of “local color”. We had the good fortune of “Hippie Dave” joining us on the morning I was there. Hippie Dave is seen on the Crested Butte visitors guide cover riding his mountain bike. A young hip local with some good tales and tips. If you want a high quality and even higher value memorable experience then Jerry Bigelow’s Claim Jumper is just the ticket. You won’t soon forget your stay there. I know I will be back! Have fun.
