Crystal Pier Hotel, San Diego

1) THE COFFEE POT was broken. When we asked for another one the clerk told us to check the GFI switch, finally they replaced it. 2) We had to ask for a frying pan,and a broom. When we finally got the broom it looked like it was ready for the trash. 3) The toster was out dated, but we did find out the smoke alarm is in working order. 4) The front door, the lock was jamed. 5) The furniture, my husband sat in the canvis deck chair and it broke,instead of replacing it, the maid tried to fix it and my husband fell a second time. 6) The clock radio didnot work. 7) The maid dislocated the shower door off the hinges.

Once upon a time in the mid 80's I actually lived on the pier above the office with my friend Charles Milton, approx $600.00 a month. I met my wife on the pier. We just rented a cottage in celebration of our 19th wedding anniversary. What a memorable time. It hasn't really changed. Thank you to all the staff for the excellent maintenance & service. Crystal Pier has got to be one of if not the best spots in Southern CA. A side from the on the pier living experience similar to being on a boat, worry & stress free, everything is close by for added entertainment & fun. We rebooked for Sept 2007 during our checkout process for a return next year, thats how much we enjoyed our visit. It's not a cheap budget hotel, you get what you pay for & Crystal Pier is worth every dollar spent.

This was a great way to show relatives visiting us a great time and the real flavor of SanDiego beach life. We all slept great with the real ocean sounds. Can't beat the view.

The location of the place is great! We would never stay there again, though. The beds they use are the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in. When we woke up we felt like we where hit by a semi-truck every bone in our body hurt and we were in our 30's at the time.

We have been to this pier several times and in alltypes of weather, it very cozy and comfortable we just love it. Steve and Ramona Diaz

My family loves Crystal Pier. I was born and raised in San Diego and all of my family still lives there.I now live in Utah. Every year at Easter we all get together and stay on the pier for a week. It's now a family reunion and have been doing it for over 10 years. We have never had any problems with the staff they know us by name now and love our family. I would recomend to stay on the pier anyday. We have found the we like the south side a little more, it tends to be alittle less windy. Once you stay on the pier you we be hooked for life, yes it costs alittle more then some of the hotels by the beach but it is an experience you will remember forever and long for. I can't wait for this year in April to relax on the pier, watch and hear the waves, and see the beautiful sunsets. The Johnson Family

it was nice as peace full listen to the ocean we spend the night we got marry there thatwas twenty five years ago oct 1st 1980 i would love to go back live in ri now.

It was actually on a pier, Like a little house you always dreamed of having. Literally steps away from the water or a romantic stroll down the pier. Right on the boardwalk and in front of Kono's: The best breakfast in Pacific Beach.

What a WONDERFUL experience at Crystal Pier - The cabins are cozy and a great location - once in a lifetime stay - Took my Mother on a "Spring Break" after my Father had passed away - she didn't have time to think about Dad not being there - Loved the private patio to look out over the ocean and surfers - So many things close by to see - Only draw back is you need to plan ahead and get that reservation in - always booked when we visited San Diego before but THAT just tells you what a great place Crystal Pier is to stay and how we wait in line to get the chance to stay there - Mom is talking about going again and she says we are staying ALL of our nights here!!!!

Our first time in California, we really didn't know what to expect. Our only child had moved to San Diego a few years after graduating from college and wanted us to see her apartment and show us around San Diego. We were curious to see what was drawing her so far from home. She had been home to New Jersey a few times for family events, but we had not been out to the west coast yet. This was our chance. I started to check out places for us to stay on the internet. When I saw the Crystal Pier Hotel, I fell in love with the place. It was so cute! Blue and white everywhere. A little kitchen. Perfect for my husband and myself. No prices. I gave a call. A bit more than I wanted to spend, but I knew that this vacation was going to be the first one we had had in a very long time. Unfortunately they could not accomodate us for the entire stay. They could only give us 3 nights. I booked it. Two months later we arrived in San Diego and pulled up to the pier. Check in was quick, keys were given and we were off to #7. We opened the door and it was exactly as it was on the internet. Exactly. Clean and beautiful. The next three days were heavenly and we felt sad to leave our comfortable next. I won't do a review on the next place we stayed. It is too upsetting.
