Description

Though called a hotel, this wonderful property is actually a collection of 26 cottages built out on a pier. Most of these temporary travelers' homes were built back in the 1930s; all of them have been renovated in recent years. You'll wish you could just move right in, since each cottage has its own bedroom, living room, patio and kitchen. With parking just outside your door, it would be hard to find more cozy convenience at any other hotel in the area. From sunrise to sunset, you'll enjoy a view of the ocean and the waves that few others will ever see. Rates are seasonal.

Another Cali Dreamer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/18/07
I lived in southern California most my life and my parents first took my sister and I there when I was about 15,I'm 34 now... I loved it! We continued to go there for years after that with more and more family members, it's exciting to see the reaction of newcomers, it's like they cant believe this place actually exists! Unfortunately, I live in Oregon now and haven't had a chance to get back there in awhile... That is definately one thing that I truely miss about California, I can't say enough about it! I haven't had the chance to see the new remodling that has been done, but the place was VERY nice even before that, so I can only imagine what it looks like now. I have so many great memories of this place and highly recommend it to all!

A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/07
There is no wear I would rather spend my vacation than Crytal Pier. The location is kind of rowdy but when your on the pier you feel like your in your own world. The manager Jim.B IS THE SALT OF THE EARTH. I feel bad for the people who decieded after going to the pier for years and years that they no longer wanted to return, thing's change and it sound's like those people must have changed more the the pier. We are lookinbg forward to our time in August See you then. The Clare's

been going for 30 years
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/07
We love this place. Sleeping over the ocean relaxing on the beach, walks on the boardwalk in the evenings. Wonderful becuase it is safe and private to guests in the evening once the gates are locked. My family has a reunion here every year in July we rent at least 12 cottages. I am 45 and my mom brought us here when I was ten I now share this with my children. Worth every penny it is our favorite vacation of the summer.

It is quaint with seperate bedrooms, beautiful view of the ocean and although we did not use it, it has a nice little equipped kitchen.

Management ruins the wonderful experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/07
This is a perfect location and the cottages are adorable and clean. Private terraces overlooking the ocean comlete the experience. However, I agree with another reviewer that the gentlemen at the front desk(I assume the owners son) has absolutely no personality and acts like he's annoyed when you ask him questions, I have recently found a vacation rental right next door on the beach which is half the price and the people are wonderful. I will probably not stay at the crystal pier again because of this.

Paradise on the Pier
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/18/07
Ok ...so I was in town at a conference and decided to stay a few extra days ... so when out one day I had seen this place on the pier and thought ...since I am from Chicago and it is freezing there right now so I thought I would treat myself ....so I checked into the Cryatal Pier Hotel ... the place was awesome an experience I will never ever foget .... the staff was great and accomodating ...the housekeepers were great ..and the workers in the office were so helpful in telling me where to go and eat every meal and get a good cup of coffee... BUT let me tell you the view was breath taking every minute of the day ...not to mention the handsome handy man that worked on the pier ...though he was NOT friendly he was very handsome and helpful when asked ...overall I would go back in a minute!!! Love from the WINDY CITY

Romantic Get-Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/28/07
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pier 4 years ago, now a marriage and two wonderful baby girls later, we can't wait to get back. There is something about the experience that made us certain of our future together. The pier, the ocean waves, the board walk makes you feel alive. It was a beautiful experience that will be cheerished and relived. Great place to rekindle your love.

A dream
By April, 12/15/06
My husband and I and another couple shared a cottage at the Crystal Pier and it was incredible. Try Kono's for the best breakfast ever. It was in walking distance to everything you would ever need. Listening to the ocean so close was very relaxing. We wanted to grill on the patio, and the staff was very accomodatinga and very nice, in spite of some of the other reviews. If you ever do anything in your lifetime, stay here!
