I left early.
By ,
This place is good if you want an apartment or some place to stay with your frat buddies. As a hotel it does pretty poorly. The internet didn't work in my room and the rest of the floor too. The bed comforter smelled like a wet dog and I had bad allergies. The furniture in the room is cheap and worn. The front desk staff don't really take responsibility for anything or try to fix things. I left after one night, which was four days early. The front desk didn't really care or bother to ask why.

Terrible - Beware of their deceptive practices
By ,
Got my confirmation 2 months ago. Got there on Sat 10/30/11 at 3PM and told me all 120 suites were "occupied" therefore there are no rooms availlable. Seriously, who's going to believe that??? So they put me and my wife in a one bedroom "Hotel Urbano" which is down the street. There is nothing wrong about Hotel Urbano if you are looking for a 2 star hotel, but I was expecting to be in a "executive suite". In all, be very careful about this hotel. Don't want anyone else to get ripped off.

Do not choose this hotel if at all possible!
By ,
(I stayed here on business prior to the SuperBowl.) I got to my room and had no phone & the air conditioner was broken (and stuck at 78 degrees!). After letting the front desk know, they supposedly sent someone to fix the situation. Although, it seemed a bit cooler the next night (74 degrees), I woke up in a sweat the following 2 mornings. I asked to change rooms, and was told, there were no vacancies. I also had an alarm system in my room (didn't make me feel very comfortable), considering there was a fulltime guard at the elevator and you have to swipe a tag, just to get on the elevator. The bed - oh, where do I begin? It was about 10 inches tall (from the floor), felt like a concrete block, the sheets were scratchy (but clean). My room was not "stocked" (snacks, and NO COFFEE, although I had a coffee maker) until the day I left. I guess the price was a "deal" for Miami (about $120), and they lure you in with the thought of a "luxury condo hotel". I would never stay here again. Do not waste your time!!!!

Horrible place to stay!
By ,
My overall experience here was horrible. The rooms were semi-clean. There was hair in the bathroom along with rust stains in the tub and on the curtain rod. No hospitality of whatsoever. Front desk people disappeared here and there. Not friendly. No greetings in the evening or mornings...not even a smile. Restaurant manager was rude, unfriendly and is a grouch. Hate dealing with grouchy people first thing in the morning. The hotel offers a very unfriendly atmosphere. People seem miserable it's very unpleasant to deal with those kind of people when you're on vacation. Parking is a pain. It's valet, but you have to wait for there to be room in the driveway before you can even park your car for the valet to take it. They never mentioned an additional parking fee, which was $20 each day. If I knew that, I wouldn't have tipped them 6 times a day when I picked up my car and dropped it off. Absolutely ridiculous place to stay. If you want to enjoy your stay at a hotel, don't book it here. They ruin your visit once you find the place. Good Luck!

Great Experience
By ,
During the time of our stay at this hotel there were many events going on which limited the rooms available at the other well known hotels where we needed a block of rooms for our out of town guests. As a last resort we booked the rooms at the Fortune House and we were very pleased not only with the location and the value but with the service provided by the staff. They were very professional and friendly and ensured our stay was enjoyable. The suites were very spacious and comfortable, each suite was unique in it's own way. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to our friends. If I had to say anything about what we disliked was the self parking guidelines and costs were not clear and not explained during the check in process.

Excellent Location...
By ,
I stayed at the Fortune House as it was recommended by a friend, and it's next door to the banks on Brickell Avenue. The room was spacious. 2 separate rooms with a living room and a kitchen with all the cutlery and utensils needed for an extended stay. I must say that the room had an unpleasent smell at first, and since I didn't find a smelly sock or dirty underware left behind, I guess it was just South Florida humidity and dampness that was cured by opening the large glass door that leads to a nice balcony with a view of the Four Seasons Hotel, and a partial look of the bay. The only thing I would like is for the hotel to consider a solution to offer wireless internet at the units that are used as hotel rooms. Not that the business center is unpleasent, but certainly sometimes you want to carry on work within the privacy of your room, and the business center is not big enough for a lot of people working at the same time.

We always stay at Fortune House
By ,
I live in Miami and my ex brings the kids down several times a year, and they always stay at Fortune house. Its by far the best value you on going to get in the Brickell area, the kitchen's mean less eating out, the staff is friendly and professional, and the view is awsome. The woman I live with recently had her family up from Bogota, they ravied about the hotel as well.
