Residence Inn by Marriott Williamsburg, Williamsburg

this place is close to all attractions, the breakfast was the best, the cook tim was very nice and even gave me one of his reciepes. as far as room service there was a container of fruit in the fridge from the previous guest and our closet door was broken and there was a fire alarm at 1:00 in the morning so we had to evacuate for an hour. But price was good and the breakfast made up for the housekeeping. I would go back for the awsome breakfast.

The staff was the friendliest of any hotel we have ever stayed in, including several trips to Disney. Room was very nice and clean. Had a very nice pool and good breakfast every morning. We plan to go to Virginia again just to stay here again.

We have stayed at this hotel previously and this particular saturday we toured williamsburg all day and were tired and ready to relax when we arrived at the hotel at 430PM. When we arrived the front desk clerk never got off the phone and called across the lobby as we walked in pulling our luggage that if we were expecting to check in we couldn't because none of the rooms were ready. She further stated we should go see Williamsburg and come back later. We never got a word out. We left and immediately called 1 800 Marriott and after three attempts my wife finally got through to someone that helped us. We returned to the hotel around 515PM and found the same clerk on the phone with Marriott Corporate. She was very apologetic and explained that the housekeeping manager was inspecting our 2 bedroom suite right now. We reserved one with a fireplace but were told that the guests in our suite didn't check out as planned and had a dog? The lobby was now packed with irate travelers who got the same lame "your rooms not ready" excuse. We did get extra Rewards Points worth a free nights stay, however, and the room was very nice as usual. Service stinks though and certainly doesn't measure up to what's expected from Marriott.

My husband, daughter and I went down for the weekend and had a great time. We arrived at the hotel just before 2pm and were able to check-in early. We had reserved a one bedroom suite and the first room had a slight ordor (lingering food smell, perhaps garlic and/or other strong scented foods fragrances). The manager personally came to check on another room and the cleaning staff was also accomodating. We were promptly moved to another room and had no problems. The room was clean, the kitchen and all appliances were in good condition and the beds comfortable. We did not eat breakfast but it looked good for a quick bite. The price was reasonable considering the area. The location is great; it is in downtown Williamsburg and about 10 minutes from Presidents Park, WaterCountry and Busch Gardens. We would stay at this facility again.

The location was OK. Close enough to Busch Gardens and shopping. Restaurants were within walking distance. I didn't like the fact that even though I arrived early and was told my reservations were all set they just needed to clean the rooms but, when I returned the 2 BR suite I reserved was not available. The fitness facility was treadmill and eliptical machine the pool was really small. They get three stars because the manager was very helpful and the location.

Read other reviews from complainers but, wanted to see for myself, Excellent accomidations for the family. Great breakfast, and the staff was excellent. Would not stay any place else in Williamsburg

April 2007 - Service was terrible. The room was dirty when we checked in. Trash was full, dishes were in the dishwasher, crumbs in the microwave, used towel in the closet, bathroom mirrors were splashed and disgusting, hiar in shower and on bathroom floor. Building is old and need remodeled. Our air conditioning didn't work 3 out of 4 nights and they sent someone every day to fix it. Our one phone didn't work and they way they fixed it was to remove all the buttons except for the 1-9 and 0 button. Could not call room to room and they couldn't tell us how to retrieve a message when the message light came on. Go to the Embassy just down the road.

We were very satisfied with the hotel. The pool needed a little attention but the rest of the stay was a great experience. The breakfast was awsome, the rooms were nice and roomy. The location was convienient as well. Definetly recommend this hotel to others.

Residence Inn is top-notch in all areas, the best hotel we have ever stayed in, by far. It is hard to find hotels that accomodate families and Residence Inn has 2-bedroom/2-bathroom suites with kitchens, dining areas and living rooms. It has the perfect amount of space so we aren't falling over each other and enough beds for our whole family. We can save money by using the kitchen for some of our family meals while we are on vacation. Residence Inn provides a wholesome breakfast each morning and even some great dinners. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
