Slightly disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/08
I thought the villa was nicely decorated and the partial kitchen met the criteria for me and my husband. The negatives were mold all around the tub/shower unit. The tub/shower unit was hard to step into. I was told the updated villas had an updated unit so maybe this wouldn't be a problem for everyone. The bathroom lighting was bad and it was hard to use the mirror (women do need light to apply makeup!!!). We were there in July during the monsoons. The first rain we had an infestation of ants. We also had an issue with ants getting into our food that we had stored in the kitchen. I was disappointed in the activities. Our usual experience with these types of hotels is that they offer a great variety of activities during our stay this one did not. I was also disappointed that this hotel offered one eating joint which was an outside grille cafe located by the pool. It had very limited hours so everytime we wanted to eat we had to leave the premises. Would we return? Maybe.

Fantastic!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/27/08
We just got back from a weeks stay and plan to return in September. The staff was kind and friendly. The grounds are beautiful and kept up very well. The pool is one of the reasons we like to stay at this resort. The location of the resort works well since it close to the freeway.

Slightly Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/26/08
My husband and I were there for our 25th anniversary and was excited based on the pictures we saw on the internet and book. However, we were disappointed upon arrival to find our quarters cramped for two people. The kitchen floor was dirty and the screen door to the balcony and the toaster were broken. The whirlpool bathtub made taking a shower difficult as I had to climb into the high tub with a bad hip. However we did enjoy the pool the couple of times we went. The grounds, although not fancy was nice enough. Before choosing this location again, I might try some place else.

great stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/12/07
We had great weather and loved the pool, even at night the water was warm. This is a time share facility so as long as you know that you are ok. Most of the guests are older couples enjoying their retirement and so I enjoyed the quiet. There are many activities you can participate in if you get bored. I did think our one bedroom was adequate for a couple with 2 kids and we had a fantastic view of the pool. I wish I had known that there was no restarant and none within walking distance. The location is abit out of the way and a car is a must or spend a fortune on cabs. All in all it was a beautiful facility. Thanks for the great service.

You get what you pay for!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/25/06
The Sheraton Desert Oasis is not a five star resort like the Marriott Canyon Villas or the Westin at Troon. You don't pay five star rates and you don't get five star ammenities i.e you get what you pay for. It is a perfectly good 3 to 4 star resort in a great location (4 blocks from Scottsdale shopping) with friendly service, fairly well kept rooms in need of some maintenance, a great pool and descent activites. If you are looking for high end pampering and facilities, call the Marriott.

Great Spring Break 2006
By Scott Stream, 4/3/06
We just returned from a WONDERFUL week. Both my children, 6 and 3, had a super week. Lots of activities for all ages, wonderful pool, and very clean room and grounds. We stayed in a One Bedroom. The kids slept on the pull out bed, which was perfect for their size. The staff was wonderful. Highly recommend. We plan on returning.

Never again
Cramped, dark room. Stained sheets, drapes and sofa cushions. Unfinished flooring in the bathroom, peeling paint. Lousy or non-existant service. Constant hassle for timesharing. Never, never again.

AMAZING!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/21/06
Our first reaction when we got to Arizona, was the heat. We were wondering, "Who would come here?" As soon as we got to the resort, our question was answered. It was awesome. The service was great, and there were many activities for everyone. One of the highlights was the pool. We especially liked swimming in the night. The water was still warm. The location was not great, so I would recomend renting a car, but with a car, you are in great shape. During the day when it was too hot to go outside, there were still many things to do. Also, Pheonix is a nice city. Obviously if you are staying for a few days or more, you should definitley see the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Overall, the service was great, the rooms were awsome, and the resort's amenities were amazing. I would definitely go back.
