The Hotel itself was nice, no major complaints. The pool is a little small and the breakfast provided is not much but overall the place is okay. My complaint would be with the lack of customer service the manager Nancy dispalyed upon my family checking in. I had booked a room for our family reunion 2 weeks prior but forgot to bring my confirmation # with me. Big mistake! Nancy refused to take my license so that she could see my name and suggested I stay at a separate hotel away from the rest of my family. She hurried me along so that she could assist the customers behind me, only one problem, she hadn't attempted to help figure out where my missing reservation went. She showed no interest in helping but luckily when one of my relatives came down and mentioned my name Nancy somehow decided to check the system again and what do you know, my name magically appeared after 25 minutes of trying to get her to just take my license so that she could see my name. It was a horrible way to start a vacation and I can say that I've never, ever been treated the way I was. Its not a bad hotel, just bad service so if you stay just make sure you bring your confirmation number with you or you might just be out of luck. She didn't even apologize. Instead she blamed the whole situation on me for not bringing my confirmation number and whoever booked it into the system, real classy. Did I mention she's the manager?

started to rate this hotel with four stars....but honestly could not find a good enough reason to rate my experience anything less than a five. I read the reviews and like most people considered not staying at this hotel. In short I don't have a negative thing to say about my stay here. The staff was friendly, my room was nice for the price, not to mention Walmart, Outback, and Ruby Tuesday all being within walking distance of the hotel. What's more, the Imperial Palace Casino was less than a seven minute drive. During our stay we met up with other family members who also were pleased with their rooms, the friendliness of the staff, the location, and especially the free breakfast. If you are on a budget and not concerned with the perks of staying in a luxury hotel, the Wingate is one of the best kept secrets in Biloxi! I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased. I would definately stay here again.

Complimentary shuttle from the airport left the airport without me. It took 1 1/2 hours to get to the hotel 20 miles away. I was guaranteed a non-smoking room and confirmed at check-in that it was a non-smoking room. My room had ashtrays in it and smelled like cigarette smoke. The hotel offered to spray the room with air freshener. Gee thanks.... When I was checking out, the hotel told me it would be $20 to take the shuttle back to the airport because gas was expensive (??). They said a taxi was $45 (it was actually a $30 flat rate and I took it instead). Every request made at the front desk had a "nope" answer. Can I get a phone book for the city of D'Iberville? Nope. Ok, thencan you give me some phone numbers of local restaurants? Nope. Can the shuttle sitting out front take me 1/2 mile across the freeway? Nope. Although they DID bring me a roll of t.p. when my 1/2 roll ran out and more washcloths when I mentioned that I only had ONE when I checked in. The service was horrible and the location just as bad. Bad traffic, ugly location. Big disappointment.

I am in Biloxi for the summer working. I have been at the Wingate Inn for 5 weeks and the fitness center has been out of service the entire time, and probably months before that. When I confronted the management they told me they had "no good answer" as to when it would be fixed. "It could be tomorrow, it could be in 8 years," says management. Not what I would call top-notch service. Also, the hot-tub is green. Other than that, rooms are nice, breakfast is good, high-speed internet hasn't been down since I've been here.
