Adequate

I chose this hotel because of price, location, and reputation. I knew Hampton Inns should be a good choice. While the hotel was clean and quiet, there were little things that were not quite right and I was a little surprised at this for Hampton Inns. The front desk clerk who checked me in had such a thick Russian accent I could barely understand her. The TV suffered from sound problems (too low-too high), the in-room coffee pot was broken, there was no hot water in the spa and it took 10 minutes to get hot water out of the tap in the bathroom, and the bath tub was in serious need of an overhaul. Since this was a 1-night stay, I didn't have time to go over this with the manager, who also had a very thick accent. Ordinarily I pride myself on being able to recognize English words spoken in a foreign accent, but this was a little much. Calling this location Gold River is also a bit of a stretch since it is 5 miles from Gold River but across the street from city hall in Rancho Cordova.
