Awful place to stay, unfriendly staff...
By charlene, 7/5/10
Upon arrival I called to confirmed that I would have a handicap accessible room and later found out that my room was given away because of the first come first serviced rule. I also was very disconcerted because the room was dirty, cheesy and over priced.... The front desk staff all were rude. Never will I return ever!!!!!!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/30/10
We loved this hotel! We walked in off the street and the gentleman at the front desk greeted us with a smile. We asked how much for a night and he said "well how much do you want to spend"? They were very friendly, the room was spotless, we had a great view and best of all we got it for a great price! I would definitely stay here again.

Great Family Vacations!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/10
We loved this hotel! Last year we brought our brand new baby with us and our family of five had plenty of room to spread out! My kids love the pool and we were able to hang out by the pool with them and relax. Great view with all ocean front rooms. The location of the hotel is great--far enough away from the tourist shops but close enough to still be convenient. Rooms are a little pricey, but worth the money! Can't wait to come back this year!!

staff
By disco inferno, 3/16/10
I stayed here recently for a cheer competition and it was fun and great. the food was good. except the chef quit in the middle of breakfast. it was a great place to stay. the staff was nice to my cheer team. let me just say, that brandon the front desk guy is very very very very cute. so when you change to the Sheraton hotel we will stay there next year because you were nice to us, and we appreciate you being a caring employee

Don't believe those over-the-top reviews
By Chris W, 9/24/09
We were there in August 2009. The hotel is OK but the rooms were badly overpriced; our room was not available until well after what was already a late check-in time; very poor food service except breakfast, which was good; car parking was a nightmare; and room cleanliness was pretty shocking. The housekeepers at this hotel should be ashamed of themselves. On the up side, it is a great location for the beach. The area around the hotel is very tacky. All the local stores are full of cheap, nasty tourist rubbish and very few national chains. All the restaurants we tried on Atlantic were beyond terrible - we were quite shocked that we didn't end up with food poisoning, bearing in mind the amount of under-cooked seafood we were served. Best to eat in local malls or away from the beachfront. It is also worth bearing in mind that over the summer months the local authorities put on all sorts of street entertainment around the hotel. This goes on until late in the evening. Great if you are interested in what is on offer but very annoying if you are trying to get to sleep!

Wonderful family getaway but the food is AWFUL
By ACB, 8/12/09
We booked this hotel as a last minute beach getaway for our family with kids under 7 and it was fantastic from start to finish. All rooms have an oceanfront view, beach is gorgeous, you can rent umbrellas and chairs, it's not too crowded, lovely pools, friendly staff - really a very lovely getaway. My one complaint is I cannot believe how bad the food is. Even the hamburgers suck. My 7 year old, who eats everything, even said how bad the hamburgers were, and it's pretty hard to mess up a hamburger! We ordered room service and the seafood platter (nearly $30) was just awful, plus they forgot silverware, salt & pepper, and unbeknownst to me served my children soda in their cups when I had ordered water. My kids aren't supposed to drink soda & this was right before bedtime so this really ticked me off, I'm going to be up all night. Basically this is a really wonderful hotel but I am appalled at food they serve especially for the $279/night rate we paid - why in such a nice hotel would they let their standards slide like this? The seafood platter was like rubber, and everything else on the plate was deep-fat fried like hush puppies, the sauce on the crab cake was just plain awful, the coleslaw was like vomit. For lunch they served a wilty salad with a rubbery red tortilla - just plain awful. I'm not kidding - if you stay here, do NOT eat here! BTW the kitchen staff tried to be very accommodating and were all very nice, although they did say "Well - everyone in the dining room likes the seafood platter" - as if that should make me like it too! Not! Anyway - wow, this is a great place to stay for families, it's just a pity you have to go someplace else to get a nice meal especially when you're a family with young kids out all day and you don't have the time/energy to schlepp out to a restaurant.

A Great place to stay!!!
By Dean, 4/2/09
I stay here a few time a year and there are several reasons why I keep coming back. 1) The staff are very friendly and helpful. 2) Everything in the hotel works and looks great. 3) If I need anything the front desk (Dawn) helps out in a second. 4) The sales rep. (Jenny) is very easy to work with on my trip arrangments. 5) Great location. I highly recommend this hotel. Dean Brown

Mixed Review
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/08
We loved the room. We were right on the boardwalk and could get to things quickly and not have to get in the car. The view was gorgeous. We were on the 9th floor and could see dolphins in the water. Nice for a high traffic hotel. Littel rough for money paid but the view was worth it. Had to do laundry and they gave us free soap. Service at restaurant was very slow, hoping it was just a bad shift that night.
