Great atmosphere

Bayeux is like stepping back in time to the 1950's in America as far as industry and commerce. Architecturally, it is a step much further back - to Norman times. This hotel is a nice ancestral home converted into a comfortable hotel. Set on several acres, it has a beautiful setting, much quieter than the hotels in the heart of town, though the train runs by and at time the geese can be noisy. The rooms in the main house were all pleasant and had refrigerators and TVs. The house itself is a treasure and the common areas are beautiful. The duplex suites, located about 30 yards from the main house are extra spacious, if you don't mind some steps. The staff was very nice and helpful and the continental breakfast was good to start the day. You are still within walking distance of much of the town as well.
