Extended Stay America San Diego-Oceanside, Oceanside

The first room i stayed in smelled strongly of smoke and it was a non-smoking room! The second non-smoking room was filled with cigarette burns on bathroom floor and counter. The first room also had cigarette burns on the toilet seats which gave a very negative appearance. The second room i moved into had a clogged kitchen sink. Overall I do not recommend this place unless you really have to stay here. They do not seem to respect the non-smoking policies.

Where do I start... I came here from a Candlewood because it was a little cheaper and I guess you get what you pay for out here. There was black hair all over, probably from the maids. They are missing some of the dishes that are supposed to be here. the air conditioner is very loud and the air it puts out stinks the room up. The funiture is broken and chipped, and one of the beds is sagging and not really useable. Rooms are overall dirty and stained. Have a golf course side room and you can hardly see out of the nasty windows! The shower leaks out of the faucet and head when you pull the shower knob so there is little water pressure. The TV only has like 12 channels of which two are latino, three are ESPN, and three are national news channels. The washers dont hold any clothes and there are four of them. There are 6 dryers of which only 3 are in service at any time. The other three are out of service and have been for weeks. they are about 1970s models. Please take the advice of the reviews and AVOID IF POSSIBLE!

The rooms were dirty (smoke-smell) and the linens are definitely passed their prime. The worst however, has nothing to do with the room. It has to do with the charge to your credit card! There was a group of us staying at this hotel (4 or 5 rooms). When we got our credit card statement, we had been charged for 4 rooms instead of the one that we signed for (and others were charged for their rooms as well). The charges were not all the same (and we know what the charge/room was supposed to have been). We weren't the worst off. The worst off was friends of ours which found around $4000 worth of charges to their credit card starting the second day of their stay and we know that they were not using their credit card for any of this. The front desk personnel are not always there and this would suggest that they either do not lock up their guest's credit card information when they are not there, or they are themselves stealing this info. We are lucky in that our credit card company isn't charging us for the extra charges. But, this obviously leads to a hassle which most of us don't need. EAS needs to revamp this hotel in all possible ways.

Rotting food in fridge, mystery splatter on wall and floor, sticky bathroom counters, filthy carpets, smokey nonsmoking room, bug bites, broken smoke alarms...need I say more?
