food presentation
By margaret, 5/4/12
the only complaint i have is the presentation of the food/the food might taste terrible, but its in the presentation thats draws me to select it when i go to ameristar the presentation of the food makes you want to taste everything.. at majestic, one time the macaroni and cheese was so watery,,check to see if food has fallen on the counter, make the food look like its a feast for a king...i like majestic i still eat your food...but i just dont like the way some of it looks....however i will be back

Horrible customer service
By Tom, 8/28/11
This is a review of the hotel. The casino is fine, but I would prefer to rate it separately. So, the hotel room was clean. I would feel safe sleeping here again, both physically (from scary Gary types) and safe from diseases lurking underneath the sheets. The price point was also reasonable, considering the lake view and proximity to Chicago. However, Hammond/Gary should be cheap. This low rating is being given due to the poor quality of customer service I received from the hotel staff on 8/17/2011. I was severely disappointed in the way I was treated as a first time guest. I spent two nights in this hotel, while also patronizing the casino. I checked in late the first night and asked to check out late the last day. I asked how late I'd be able to stay in the room without being charged (11:30 am) or how late I could stay in the room and be charged for just a half day (4 pm). I had stayed up very late the night before at the casino and hoped that the hotel staff would be more accommodating. However, I was told one thing by the operations manager and another thing by a front desk staff member a couple hours after initially asking the question. The front desk staff member called me at 2 pm to tell me I had 10 minutes to vacate the premises, even after I had spoken to her boss. They refused to remove the half day charge from my bill, even though I left before the 4pm deadline I was told I could stay in the room until with a charge for a half day. Since I had just woken up and showered, I asked for half an hour to pack and get ready to leave. I was threatened to be charged a full day if I wasn't out in under 10 minutes. I felt like I was being bullied at the poker table and not as if I was staying at a place that respected their guests. I won't go back and stay here again.

Really Good Buffet
By trishflirtone, 5/9/11
The Friday Seafood Buffet is great and cheap. All the crab legs you can eat and they are fresh. The other items also are very good. The line can get a little long but it moves fast. They should have two lines for the crab legs which is what most people come for on Fridays. You cant beat the price $19.99.

Motel 6 has nothing to worry about here
By ginxx, 2/26/10
First of all my husband and I drive a truck and we had to have some work done on our truck so we needed a place to stay for a couple of days. We thought what better a place to stay without transportation than a casino hotel? They have everything!! WRONG!!!!! This p;ace was horrible, nothing to to do but blow money in a so called Vegas style casino, I don't believe these people have ever been to Vegas. The staff seemed to have a problem with pleaseing the guest, the buffet was the worst thing, and no comp anything not even breakfast. and to top it off over priced everything overpriced. 5.95 for a hot dog!!!! Never again. I will go to Motel 6 before I stay here again, at least you get what you exspect there.

Highly Disappointed
By Monique, 9/29/09
The hotel was disgusting! I have stayed at some not so great places, but this took the cake. The bed had bedbugs and the staff did not seemed surprised at all when we told them. The casino was even worse. The buffet at the casino served awful day old food. Do not waste your time or money by going here. You would be better staying outdoors. The only good thing about the entire trip was that the staff was friendly despite the other reviews I read. The casino is very old and outdated. The entire casino was a smoke filled room. The ventilation on the riverboat was awful. I have never been so disappointed in my life!!

Needs cleaning!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/15/09
My husband and I have gone to the 2 boats over the years and enjoyed it and won to. But in the recent months we vowed not to return cause the machines are dirty and sticky , the bathrooms are smelly and unclean, and the help seems not to like their jobs cause most are UNFRIENDLY. Our winning choice to play at is the Blue Chip. Clean and class rolled into one! Great comps to.

Worst Hotel, Don't go there
By Sean D, 3/12/09
I stayed in 6 hotels the past 4 weeks. The Majestic Casnio/Hotel was by far the worst one I have stayed in. I was expecting a nice. cozy room. When I walked in, it was small, stunk, and not up-to-date. The movies on the TV did not work.. the tv was very low old quality and the picture was terrible. The toilet was filthy... The shower pressure was so low, that I couln't even rinse the soap off of me. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Do not go to this hotel. The casino was ok. Payout = very bad. It had 3 seperate levels, and was one of the better casinos i've been too.

Majestic can you hear me
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/07
No wonder this place isn't being called trump towers anymore because if it was The old DONALD would have some explaining to do no one answers you complaints or concerns if you want to pay to be treated like a step child then then this is the place to be and if you stay in a smoking room please do not ask housekeeping for an ashtray because you just might get one if ashes and cigarette butts already in it. i don't know if this is good or bad but there is a shuttle that goes to and from the casino all day and night well i guess its good if you cant sleep in a not so clean room and you want to drink your coffee with out cream and sugar and feel like washing your own dishes so that you can have a clean cup to drink from GOOD LUCK to you all.
