Reservation? Conf #? Apparently not enough...
By Kris R, 2/20/12
Buyer beware - the staff at the Superstition Inn and Suites is not only unreliable, but completely unaccountable for their mistakes. I will freely admit I have no authority to review the accommodations at this facility, and I never will after the experience I had with them yesterday. Looking forward to the Lost Dutchman race and knowing how busy the hotels in the area get with the flood of people coming into town for the race, my husband and I booked our room 3 months before our anticipated stay. We booked by phone, directly with hotel staff. Just to be safe, we called the day before our trip to AJ to confirm our reservation. The staff not only confirmed our reservation, but gave us a confirmation number. 24 hours later, we arrived to the hotel desk after a long drive only to be told they couldn't find our reservation. The desk clerk, Angela, kept telling us "Oh I remember you calling, because I remember your name!". Yet she still could not find our reservation, or explain why it had been CONFIRMED if it wasn't in the system. She said, "Well as a plan B I can give you the names of some other hotels (some quite far from AJ, I might add) that MIGHT have accommodations. At least your credit card hasn't been charged". Seriously? Eventually they found our reservation in the system and claimed it had been cancelled. By whom? Who knows. It certainly wasn't by us. Now, I would have been upset with any hotel who botched our reservation, especially on a weekend with no other rooms available for miles around. But I understand that humans make mistakes, and if we had been told there was a problem when we called to confirm the DAY PRIOR to our trip, we would have had the opportunity to find an alternative hotel or to drive to AJ the morning of the race instead of the day before. What is unforgivable, to me, is the fact that they CONFIRMED our reservation the day before and waited until we drove 90 min to AJ to tell us there was a problem. Then, to top it off, we got no apology. We just got a smug "Well, we are booked. The best I can do is give you a discount on a future stay." Useless. So we had to turn around and drive back to our home in NW Phoenix to stay the night and drive right back to AJ the following morning. In addition to costing us 3 useless hours on the road, a tank of gas, and several additional hours of sleep before our race... the Superior Inn and Suites nearly ruined our race experience. Thank goodness we did not live so far away that our only option was to book one of the last remaining $400 hotel rooms 45 min from AJ. Don't trust these people or their meaningless confirmation numbers.

Disappointing for a College Student
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/10
I disliked the false advertisement that wireless Internet service was available. A primary reason I chose this hotel was because of the location being near the computer training seminar AND Internet service was offered. Being an on-line student, it can be imperative to post a peer response daily. Even though my laptop picked up a strong signal, the hotel system was down and they did not attempt to have it repaired. Being on school break is the only reason I remained three days or I would have left promptly. I tried their lobby computer and it didn't work and apparently neither did anyone else's laptop. Even though I can appreciate the effort in providing a Continental breakfast; the selection was very limited. Fresh fruit was not provided during any of the days I stayed; I consume a small amount of fruit twice daily as an important part of my nutritious diet plan and did not bring enough because of the advertisement. At least my room came with a microwave oven and small refrigerator for the frozen food items I brought; that was a blessing! THANK YOU!!! I am uncertain I will return to this motel during the next seminar as the building and amenities are showing much wear and requiring an upgrade. Fortunately, the A/C worked great as the 112* outside temperature was very uncomfortable!

needs improving

we reserved the room specificaly for the pool usage. was not informed at the time we made our reservation on the phone to the specific motel; that the pool was not in use. talked to the desk clerk ), refused to compensate in any way. How ever, I did call the 1-800 # on the Super 8 book left in all rooms, a month later the main co. compinsated me. Am planning another trip this weekend using the super 8 mote. I am sure this stay will be delightfull.....

Dissapointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/05
We stayed three nights for Thanksgiving holiday. We did not have maid service the whole time. Asked after first night for maid service, still no service the next day. Was told that maids would not move personal items off bed or anywhere to clean around it. I have never heard of this. I asked for a discount when we were checking out, considering I had to get my own towels at the desk, and no cleaning or trash pick up. I was given a 10% credit for my next stay. Not very helpful, considering I have no intentions of staying again. Also, when we arrived, I had to ask the desk to come and put a co-axial cable into the cable jack, because someone must have taken the last one. The TV was playing fuzz. The only plus side to this hotel is it has nice beds and furnishings with a decent breakfast bar.
