NOT the best hotel in the world

Your first clue should be when you get in your room and there are earplugs on the night stand and a poem stating they hope you will use the earplugs so you can get a good night's rest. The "wonderful" people were never at the registration desk. We came in late 2 nights, you used your room key to get in the front door, and there was a transient looking person, very unkempt, etc using the computer and enjoying the dining area and tv. We observed no one at the registration desk at any time day or night we were there except when we registered and rang the door bell for help. The commode in the bathroom in our room was the size used in a kindergarten room--extremely low to the ground and small--not a pleasant experience. Certainly not the quality we expected from a Hampton and we will never stay again!!

The best hotel in the world

Its a nice place basicly. I insist you stay here. It's under new management. The location is great. The benevolent people their treat you as royalty. If you want a hotel with clean and good quality rooms, stay at the Hampton in Merriam,Kansas. I have stayed at this hotel for years and never had a problem.

Ok except for trains

This hotel is pretty good for the price. The staff where nice, rooms where decent. The only complaint is the hotel is right beside a train track. So there is train noise almost 24/7. I got used to it after a while but its really annoying.

Trains, in the middle of the night

I thought the staff was terrific. My complaint is train noise. Members of my group heard trains' horns at all hours of the night, disrupting sleep. Several other members of the group complained about chlorine smell as their rooms were on the first floor not far from the pool. So if you book a room here, stay as far away from the back of the Hampton as possible and not on the first floor near the pool.
