Great location, just off State St, but without the State St price! Clean place, great staff. The included breakfast is fabulous -- eggs, bacon, pancakes, muffins, bagels, cereals, fruit, yogurt, cinnamon rolls, juices, etc. Not just your average continental breakfast! The staff was no nonsense about the Friendly Neighbor policy. We had a bachelorette party on our floor and the two times they started getting too loud, security was on top of it. Our room faced the street and at 2 am when the bars closed, there was a flood of noisy people passing by for a bit, but it didn't bother me. Excellent, excellent! We will be back!

Suited Us Perfectly

Most importantly, this was a very clean, well kept hotel. We have stayed here several times as we drive from LA to San Francisco. Unlike a previous review, we have always found the staff to be friendly and attentive. The location is near the bay, just off State Street, and very convenient; walking distance to local restaurants we enjoy. Although it is common/expected now, WI-FI is available. Finally, the (included) breakfast allows us to get a fast start in the morning.

Dreadful customer service and no management

There didn't seem to be anyone in charge. In the morning, several children were playing in the fountain in the entryway, splashing water all over the floor and people as they walked by. In the middle of the night (2 am) a group of people in the 2nd floor hallway screamed obscenities for 30 minutes. In both cases, management did nothing, despite their posted "good neighbor" policy. Left early, and will never go back.

the room was clean and neat nothing special the location is perfect right off of state. parking is tight and they do charge $8.00 but you can park down the street.

Absolutely horrible customer service!

Despite its prime location and charming rooms, I will never be returning to the Holiday Inn Express in Santa Barbara. The customer service was the worst I have ever seen. Despite the $200+ fee, per night, per room, my car keys were misplaced by the valet for nearly an hour and my group was treated poorly during our entire stay. It was a truly demeaning, inappropriate experience and I encourage others avoid this hotel and its unprofessional staff.

Great location.. Off State Street

Located in santa barbara downtown, it's a great place to be if ur not a fan off the cute inns that line Santa Barbara. Great furniture and settings, free breakfast and nice views..Well maintained place.They charge extra for parking...7 dollars/night.
Short walk to any place you wann get to. If you are visiting Santa Barabra and u choose to stay at this hotel, you may almost save some bucks on a rental car..
