Sandos Cancun Hotel Resort & Spa, Cancun

The pool is beautiful but there is no sun after 2 pm due to the hotel being built next door. A staff member damaged our personal property and the "manager " blamed us for it, that is after a dozen phone calls and him passing the incident to an assistant manger. One more thing, apparently a dignitary arrived in the suite next to us the day after we got there. We spent the entire stay with security guards holding machine guns outside of our room the entire time. We were there on our honeymoon 10 years earlier and had the best time ever. I guess you can't go back.

My wife, two children and I spent one week at Le Meridien 7/31/10-8/7/10 on our first trip to Mexico. Candidly, we had very low expectations of Mexico, even Cancun. We were dead wrong. Mexico gets a very bad repuation, based on ignorance (including our own). Cancun is spectacular and Le Meridien was one of the finest hotels we have ever visited. We arrived to a secure guard gate and a welcoming staff. The front reception desk was efficient, friendly, professional and extremely welcoming. Our bellman escorted us to our room which was on the 7th floor overlooking the pools and the beach. The room was perfect for a family of four. The room was very comfortable, the linens fresh, new and clean and the bathrooms were very large, ALL marble and seperate tub and shower. The cleaning staff was prompt, polite and thorough. Our rooms was attended to twice a day with turn down service every night. The hotel has two restaurants. We only ate at the pool side restaurant and it was fantastic. PLenty of things for Mom and Dad and things for the kids. The staff was extremely kind to our children and made sure they were treated as guests, not as after thoughts. I used the Spa and had two massages that were both very good. The Spa is well appointed and very large. All marble, a sauna, steamroom, splash pool and hot tub. The gym was gigantic with all the latest equipment and centrally located between the pool and the hotel. Everything is within steps. The pool area also has booking for paragliding and waverunners which leave right from the beach in front of the hotel. The pools are infiniti pools, each warmer than the last. Walk 20 paces to the beach and another 20 to the water. The ocean is amazing. Not hot, not cold.....perfect temperature and the most amazing turqoise blue. Many many chairs at the beach and the pool and we always found a nice spot. The hotel is not one of the HUGE Mega resorts...it is a tasteful, 200 room oasis on the beach. Let me say that when u book a place on line, u r taking a huge leap in faith. Le Meridien is fantastic and you can not go wrong. The staff is warm, friendly, professional and polite. My wife and I travel the world every chance we get and Le Meridien is in our top 5 hotels. Finally, this hotel has the best concierge we have ever experienced. Her name is Gina; everyday she welcomed us with a warm smile, pinpoint information and engaged the kids with proper spanish pronunciation. We will be back very soon!

Just got back last night - everything about the hotel was perfect. The staff is second to none. The rooms were nice - big bathrooms. The pools are amazing and there is a nice beach area. The location is away from the busy areas but easy to get to if you want - by bus or taxi. We had such an enjoyable week - staying at this hotel was a big part of that.

My daughter and I just returned from our stay at the Le Meridien Cancun. This is an amazing hotel. Cold towels when you arrive, the mango drink, and an amazing concierge. The view from our room was great. Our room size was adequate and the shower and bath in the bathroom were very nice. Marble everything! The hotel staff is amazing. Doors were opened and the staff was always courteous. The concierge went above and beyond in helping us book our shuttle service back. The health club is very nice and free of charge. The pools were beatiful and clean and steps away from the ocean. Towel service was provided and your lounge chair was set up for you with fresh towels. The cabanas around the pool were extremely nice as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Canun.

best hotel we ever stayed in! as you walk in you feel the difference, mango drink, cold towel... brings you to a right place for vacation! Excellent service from the staff, beautifull entry, room is clean and all you need at your finger tip. staff service the room in the morning after the night; in the evening they get the bed ready for the night and etc. Spa and pools no words, beach is clean and tons of area to seat around the pools and beach. (service with food and everything else is there) food is outstanding at the hotel. plenty of activities within walking distance. this is the only hotel we will stay when we come back to Concun.

We just came back from our vacation in Cancun and already we are planning another stay at the Le Meridien. The service was excellent. The moment you enter the hotel you are treated like royalty. I especially loved it when they came to your room to turn down the bed. It was AWESOME!!! We had such a great time that we are sending my sister and her fiance to Le Meridien for their honeymoon.

Le Meridian is a hotel that deserves 5 stars. The hotel is beautiful, the staff gives excellent service and it is in a good location.

The staff and resort itself made my visit to Cancun one to remember and I highly recommend Le Meridien to anyone planning a trip to Cancun. I was in Cancun for a friend's wedding and I was the only guest who did not stay at the resort at which the wedding took place and, after hearing about their experience, am I ever glad! Upon my arrival at Le Meridien, I was offered a warm towel and mango juice while I checked in. A bell man promptly took my luggage to my room and made certain all was in order before leaving me to relax. My room was a suite with marble everywhere and everything was clean and ready for my arrival. I was traveling alone, so I made much use of the concierge and other services in order to book my tours and negotiate my way around an unfamiliar place and, from start to finish, my experience at Le Meridien was phenominal. The resort itself is beautiful with an outstanding gym, wonderful restaurants and gorgeous pools with plenty of places to lay out in the sun. It's location in the hotel zone was a little far from some of the nightlife and shopping, but I wasn't really there for either and could easily have taken a very inexpensive cab ride had I been looking to go out on the town. And, being that I like to walk, it certainly wasn't unreasonable to walk to the nearest shopping complex. I was more than impressed with my stay at Le Meridien and, again, I would highly recommend it for anyone planning a trip to Cancun.

This was my fifth time in Cancun and my husband's first. We like personal service and attention - similar to traveling in Europe and staying at smaller hotels. This hotel was perfect. The food in the restaurants was wonderful. The work out facility is state of the art. Compared to the other hotels I have stayed at in Cancun, this is the best. We will definitely be returning. The only low point of the trip was that check in is at 3pm. We arrived around noon and was not able to get to our room earlier than 3pm. Something to keep in mind after traveling all morning.

Le Meridien was just what was needed for a get away from it all vacation. The service was excellent in every regard. From check in until check out. I had always been wary of going to Cancun, but this hotel is placed far enough away from the party zone. As we went at the end of October, it was low season and we nearly had the place to ourselves. If you want a top notch resort, look no farther. We have stayed at Ritz Carlton hotels in other locations and felt Le Meridien was their equal.
