Microtel Inn by Wyndham Winston Salem, Winston-Salem

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times only because i couldnt afford anywhere else in the area on such short notice with 3 kids. The people at the front desk didn't want to help and if there was a problem they always acted like they couldnt do anything or passed the blame. They made an error (NOT 3RD PARTY WEBSITE) and didnt want to correct the problem and tried to charge me for checking in early when they had OKD when calling to say i was on my way but didnt tell me they would charge me A WHOLE DAY to check in an hour early!!! MY ROOM WAS GROSS!!! The ceilings in the bathroom had MOLD (red and black) and was falling in..said would move me and had to wait til next evening to get room. My son has breathing health issues and should have been moved ASAP but would accomidate. Moved next evening to a room when i turned the A/C on it caught fire and had to WAIT to be MOVED AGAIN. All 3 times i had something with room and the last time I HAD IT!!! The staff was rude and all they wanted to do was sit outfront on the computer and talk really really loud and have there friends visit and ignored you when standing at the desk...At night and mornings all you hear is doors slam because the doors shut so hard..that is all we heard all night and my kids couldnt sleep and i didnt feel safe with my kids at the hotel at ALL!!!! I travel ALOT and stay at alot of hotels but i would never recommend, stay not even to my worst enemy to stay here...that is why i would say stay at your own risk!!! I cant believe this place is still opened and the health board hasnt shut it down. If you look at front desk there is rating of cleanliness which i didnt see until i Checked out. They scored LOW every low!!! BEWARE How this place gets positive ratings and fools people who look for honest reviews i dont know....

I recently stayed at the Microtel with my family. We had a pleasant time and the staff was very helpful. The location was not as accessible as I imagined, but once we were familiar with the area we were fine. Every request and comment was handled professionally.

I found the hotel to be very clean, and the staff very courteous and willing to go the extra mile. The location is hard to get to, but it is definitely worth weaving through a couple of parking lots to get to.
