they go above and beyond!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/22/11
Im not sure where these bad reviews are coming from but we always stay here and think the staff goes above and beyond their duties! They've called taxis for us, smile and always asks how we are doing in a genuine manner. The restaurant food was great and personable and the waitress even went out to her car so we could have an ice scraper for ours! Clean and no complaints!

management not professional
By Gee, 10/6/10
I booked a trip to this hotel a few months back. Since that time I have an injury that required surgery. I am unable to walk. The hotel refused to refund my money. I realize I purchased a non-refundable room, however, I didn't know I wouldn't be able to go due to medical reasons. I send a letter to this establishment from my doctor. They would not cancel my room. I had this room booked durning Oktoberfest. This is hotel I am sure rebooked my room and made double off this room. I tried to contact the manager several times, and the so called manager would not take my calls. I booked this trip through travelocity incentives, they would refund me if the hotel would refund them. So Travelocity also tried to contact the manager with no luck. I never even had the chance to talk to the manager. I believe this is very poor customer service. I originally wanted to change the dates, which they wouldn't work out with me either. Holiday Inn is banded in my family. We would rather stay at a cheap dive then ever staying at a holiday inn again ever. This business does not know what customer service is all about. There is a further investigation into this matter. we were told medical excuses should be an excuse to cancel and get our money back.

parking
By janis b, 8/30/10
parking was a nightmare. family reunion, had 4 cars, only 2 passes given because of such limited space. had to keep moving cars if you found a spot somewhere. the rooms were ok though, lots of pillows and even the pull out was comfortable. liked the kitchenettes.

TERRIBLE - Go elsewhere!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/10
Stay away from this place! They overcharged us - by more than twice what I paid for the room. I've contacted corporate and the management - all I'm getting is a long run-around that I do not have time for! I keep getting thrown into people's voicemails and, judging by the other reviews I've read, I'm not going to be getting a call back. This was supposed to be a nice trip for my 85 year old mother in law and we couldn't sleep a wink because of all the noise. The room was filthy, there was six month's worth of dust all over the place, when we tried to turn on the AC, the heat came on and it smelled like matches. The food was awful, the staff was completely rude and just plain mean - they got attitude with us when we asked to change rooms so my mother in law wouldn't have to walk so much - she's 85!!!! Go somewhere else, save your money!!

Re: Go Green?
By A, 5/19/10
Hey, 'Sick of People': Linen reuse programs don't mean that you sleep on someone else's dirty sheets. It means that if you stay multiple nights, you can choose to reuse your sheets and towels. If you're not interesting in saving water and electricity, you can choose to get fresh linens too. It's a choice.

Do not go here - they TOW your vehicle!
By Mel, 5/12/09
DO NOT GO HERE! They tow your vehicle and do not consider guests of their restaurant guests of their hotel. We went to eat at the restaurant located inside their hotel. We parked in a Holiday Inn designated spot in their privately owned parking garage next door to their hotel. The sign on the designated spots says "Holiday Inn guests only". We felt we were guests since we were guests of their hotel restaurant. They had their security guard call the La Crosse police dept and ticket/tow our vehicle!!! Then the hotel manager, Tim Rortvedt, emphatically denied that they had anything to do with the towing and only AFTER I presented facts from the La Crosse PD did he finally confess they had called to have vehicles towed. Tim Rortvedt and Holiday Inn guest relations refused to reimburse us for the $107 tow bill and the $23 parking ticket. A taxi wasn't available in time to make it before the towing company closed therefore, since we were visiting from out of town, my husband and I had to walk two miles in the cold rain to get our vehicle! This Holiday Inn has a sign posted on their side entrance that states “guests of the restaurant must get a temporary parking pass” but they do not have any signs posted outside their main front door entrance which is where most of the restaurant guests enter through. The hotel manager, Tim Rortvedt, and his assistant manager are both rude and could care less about their hotel or restaurant guests and as it turns out, Holiday Inn guest relations could care less as well!

Excellent Stay
By Group of Singers, 1/13/09
We just had a large group stay with the Holiday Inn on Jan 10th and everything was perfect! The desk had everything ready and waiting when we checked in which was perfect for our 30 rooms. They were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. Rooms were obviously just redone. We even asked what mattress they used because they were so comfortable. Super Clean! The restaurant was very fast in the morning and good food. We always have problems with our bill at checkout in other hotels when we travel but there it was again ready and waiting for us and NO ERRORS! We travel all over the midwest competing and this is by far the best hotel we have been to. We will stay here again and I would recommend this hotel for any groups traveling to La Crosse! Trouble and error free!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/7/08
We stayed two nights and were charged well over what we were quoted, when i went to pay bill and asked i was told that due to a special event weekend rates were higher, even though i positively know what i was told the room would cost. also asked for extra towels and were given attitude by desk staff, asked to speak to a manager and was told he was unavailable and would contact us. A month later and no response. i would never stay at this hotel again

Will Never Go Back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/14/08
We will never go back to this hotel. First was the parking situation. We were only alloted one spot per motel room even though we had two cars from coming in from two different parts of the state. We had to find our own parking for one of the vehicles so we wouldn't get ticketed and we put the other in the alloted spot. On the bill, unbelievably, we were then charged $3.00 for the privilege of parking in our alloted spot. Also, the beds were very uncomfortable, there were only a few towels in the bathroom and only one washcloth. How is that supposed to work??? And last, but not least, in the morning when we were going to make coffee in the coffee pot that was in the room we were totally disgusted to find something in the top portion of the pot where you put your water (something brown, slimy, totally disgusting). We will never stay in this hotel again.
