Satisfactory
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/09
We have just visited Bangkok for the first time. The hotel does not have an attractive setting however it is in close proximity to the various shopping malls and markets. You should get a map and walk because its quicker than going by taxi, also tips are expected if you want pleasant service. Our first time experience would have been fabulous if we weren't bugged continously by the tuktuk drivers and taxi drivers who pounced on us everytime we came out of the hotel, a little bit of breathing space would have been nice. Some of the hotel staff were pleasant however the frontline desk persons weren't and it was hard to get a smile out of them. They didnt thank us for being guests of the hotel when we checked out nor did they offer any words of farewell at all. If you consider this hotel, it is very basic and is a good choice if you are planning on spending most of your time out and about. The breakfasts and morning staff couldn't be faulted and catered for all. For meals I suggest eating out of the hotel and visiting a place called the Big C which is only 10 minutes up the road and has a whole floor devoted to food. The night markets are just 5-10 mins away and there is an early morning market which is probably 5 mins away also. We found these on our own, nothing is mentioned by the hotel about the local markets or recommended. Walking around in the evening didn't feel very safe in this area and we felt quite vulnerable. If you are a tourist be prepared to continuously have people come up to you and offer you all sorts of things, know your mind and don't give in. Some of the taxi drivers also wont take you if you ask them to turn their meters on and always get a price before getting into the taxi. The tuktuk drivers will attempt to take you to every tourist place they can before they take you to your destination. They get a commission if they take you there and are quite persistent so beware! The ride is not as convenient as you think nor is it enjoyable especially when you are sitting at the lights surrounded by vehicles and their pollution. The airport is fairly close only about 17km. Lastly ensure you are at the airport at least 3 hours before your departure because it will take you at least that amount of time to get through the horrendous lines for checking in.

D'ma - okay if you get a good deal
By Shelley, 5/16/05
This is an adequate hotel in Bangkok. The place is clean and large, breakfast is not the best, but the location was okay if you can get a great rate take it, otherwise you're better off getting a nicer room or staying cheap. Staff okay.

Stayed 4 nights there and the service was great. Morning breakfast menu was very good and lots to choose from. Rooms were clean and the staff at the front desk were kind and very professional.

i'll be back again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/13/05
I went to stay at this hotel is about 4-5 years ago.I liked the place because of the environment was cool.I remembered that the room that I had been staying had a view of the pool, just right below. The room is so big and so does the bathtub. The price is fair enough that this hotel is the only place that I'll be back again

Comfortable staying and great value for money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/5/05
The location is not on the main road but the surrounding traffic was good very easy to access, and near to many shopping center. Just step out from the hotel there are many local food stall and shops. The hotel's lobby is very beautiful and not so busy and felt comfortable to walk through the lobby with the casual dressing. The guest room is spacious and very clean and good condition. Guest room facilities are superb. Especially the shower stall in the bathroom separated from the bathtub. International buffet breakfast was great. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Overall, this hotel is value for money and comfortable staying.

I suggest you to stay away!
We are totally disappointed from our stay in Ramada. We stayed there 2 nights but every day we woke up with terrible construction noise coming from upstairs. We called front desk at 8 a.m. to stop this noise but they never stopped. Last day, we were really tired and called front desk 3 times to stop that annoying noise but they didn't. This is why we never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great hotel for even better price!
By ElestinaG, 5/10/05
The hotel had a very nice lobby and friendly staff. The rooms were a nice size and very clean. Free breakfast was an added value. I would recommend this hotel because of the price, but the location made it a little hard. Some taxis did not know the location of DMA or would not go, but it wasn't that difficult since the streets are filled w/ taxis and tuk tuks.

bad services, horrible receptionist.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/08
no doubt this hotel is located quite at the center of all shopping paradise, however, the receptionist is very RUDE and does not respect their customers. they are arrogant and proud. they also treat asians as lower class people and they do treat westerners with a different set of attitude. HORRIBLE and will NEVER go back to this hotel. rooms are not tremendously nice as well.

I didn't like it
By kai, 1/1/07
First of all, they didn't have my reservation. Things kept going wrong from there...the facilities and rooms are just so-so, and I was paying $75/night for a regular room. What I really didn't like was the location; it's not really near anything great and there are tons of guys outside who kept harping on me to go here and there with them in the taxi. I did and I ended up paying $60 for dinner-so beware! That was my first and last mistake as I checked out the following day, to somewhere I wouldn't get harassed as soon as I stepped out the door.

Surely going back again!
By Amy, 6/9/05
I must say tat my fren and myself had enjoyed our stay at D'MA Pavillion when we were in Bangkok on 23 May to 27 May 2005. The hotel room was clean and the breakfast spread was fantastic! The service is good but now I jus recalled tat there is no boiler jug in the room for us to boil water so tat we can make our own coffee in the room as and when we wanted. So, other than tis setback overall is pretty good. Anyway, drinks and food are easily available as there is a 7-eleven store jus across the street and there are many road stalls hawker food outside the hotel. Supper is easily available as the stalls close pretty late. The next round if I were to go to Bangkok, I don't mind staying with D'MA again and hopefully I will get a good rate as the last round with 1 nite free for 3 nites stay which I booked through the internet. See you soon D'MA! Happy User :) Amy Sng
